Euan Craik, CEO Americas, Argus Media Inc.
Euan Craik is chief executive of Argus Media Inc. in Houston and serves on the Board of Directors of Argus Media Ltd.
Since 2006, Euan has led the Argus management team in the Americas, expanding the reach of offices and breadth of services.
He joined Argus in 1996, initially as a specialist on the Russian oil and gas industries. From 2000, Euan served as Argus’ Executive Editor, based in London, where he developed Argus’ LNG coverage and other areas of the global gas and power portfolio.
In the early nineties, Euan worked in business journalism in Moscow, initially at the first post-Soviet business newspaper, Kommersant, then at the English-language Moscow Times. He was later awarded a fellowship at the Centre for Economic Performance of the London School of Economics.

Catherine Elkins, General Counsel, Argus Americas
Catherine Elkins is General Counsel of Argus Media Inc. based in Houston.
She joined Argus in March 2011 and is responsible for co-ordinating and handling Argus’ legal affairs in the Americas. Prior to joining Argus, Catherine worked in the environmental services, transportation and IT consulting industries for both privately held and publicly traded US and UK-based companies. She began her legal career clerking for the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas and then worked as a corporate associate in private practice before moving in-house.
Catherine graduated magna cum laude from Vanderbilt University with a BA in political science and was elected into Phi Beta Kappa. She received her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Texas School of Law, where she participated in the semester-in-London programme, studying EU and comparative law at University College London.

Jason Feer, COO, Argus Americas
Prior to moving to Houston in 2011, Jason spent more than seven years in Singapore as Senior Vice-President and General Manager, Asia-Pacific. During his time in Asia, Jason expanded Argus’ business, opening offices in Tokyo, Beijing, Dubai and Sydney. Jason also spent two years managing Argus’ Washington, DC, office as Vice-President and Bureau Chief.
Jason’s specialties include energy markets, project development and the politics of oil in Latin America, Asia and Europe. He has worked in the global energy business for more than 20 years as a corporate executive, consultant and journalist.
A frequent commentator on oil affairs, Jason has been featured on CNBC, the BBC and other television and radio outlets.

Karen Johnson, SVP, Commercial
Karen Johnson is Senior Vice-President Commercial of Argus Media Inc. based in Houston.
Karen joined Argus in 1994 and has led the commercial efforts in the Americas since 2003, growing the sales and marketing teams. She has also led divisions including finance, customer support and global sales during her tenure at Argus.
Karen has a BA from the University of Houston’s Honors College and graduated cum laude with majors in English literature and marketing.

Daniel Massey, President and Head of Business Development, Argus Americas
Daniel Massey is President of Argus Media Inc. in Houston and serves on the Board of Directors of Argus Media Ltd.
He has worked at Argus since 1988 and has been involved in the development of the Argus Sour Crude Index (ASCI) price which is the benchmark used by Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Iraq for sales into the US.
Daniel’s main areas of expertise are crude oil and clean products markets in the Americas region, and the global jet fuel market.
Daniel is a member of various industry associations and represents Argus for various industry associations including the International Air Transport Association.

Vanessa Viola, Brazil Country Manager
Vanessa Viola is Brazil Country Manager and re-joined Argus in 2011. Currently based in London, Vanessa will relocate to Rio de Janeiro in February 2012, where she will set up an office to expand the company’s business in that country.
Vanessa initially joined Argus in 2001, working as deputy editor of the Argus European Products report and editor of the Argus International LPG report before leaving in 2005 to work as an LPG broker with Gibson in London. Prior to her assignments in the UK, Vanessa worked as a political and financial correspondent for Reuters (Brasilia, Sao Paulo), as a financial reporter for Brazil’s leading news agency Agencia Estado and as a press relations officer with energy engineering company Asea Brown Boveri (ABB), also based in Sao Paulo.
A graduate from Brazil’s Casper Libero University with a BA in social communications, Vanessa has a Masters in international journalism from London’s City University. In addition to Portuguese and English, she is also fluent in Spanish.

Miles Weigel, Senior Vice President
Miles Weigel is Senior Vice-President of Argus in New York, responsible since 2002 for Argus’ global business with commodity exchanges and management of the northeast region.
Miles started his career in the energy industry 30 years ago as Managing Consultant with DRI, the former economic forecasting unit of McGraw-Hill, active in market analysis and trading strategy development for major energy and chemical companies. In 1988, he became Vice-President at Saladin, an energy pricing analysis software leader. In 2000, Miles became Chief Operating Officer of IPG, acquired by Argus for its electricity pricing services.
Miles received an MS in policy analysis and econometrics, and a BA in biology from the University of Rochester.
