Leading international LPG associations appoint Argus to produce annual reviews

London, 13 March 2012

Leading energy price reporting agency Argus has won contracts to produce annual statistical reviews for the World LP Gas Association (WLPGA) and European LPG industry body (AEGPL) for the next three years.
The new reports will include historical data on supply, demand and trade flows. The first Argus-produced reports will be released during the second half of 2012 and will analyse trends by sector — industrial, commercial, transportation, domestic and chemicals.
Argus LPG price assessments are widely used in physical and derivative contracts around the world. Argus LPG benchmarks include benchmarks such as the cif ARA large propane and butane assessments and the Argus North Sea Index (ANSI) propane and butane indexes, which are used in northwest and eastern Europe. The Argus Far East Index is the benchmark for LPG trading in Asia. Argus LPG World is the leading source of market intelligence, analysis and critical insight for the industry.
Argus Media chief executive and chairman Adrian Binks said: “I am delighted that Argus has been chosen to produce the annual statistical reviews for the LPG industry by the WLPGA and the AEGPL. We look forward to providing this vital source of information for the industry.”
AEGPL president Ramon de Luis Serrano said: “We are looking forward to working with Argus on our statistical review. It is a very important publication for the European LPG sector and we are confident that Argus is up to the job.”
WLPGA managing director James Rockall said: “Argus was a natural choice for us when looking for a company which could deliver timely, relevant and insightful information on LPG markets.”
