Argus Data - Corrections
Occasionally corrections to the numerical data in reports and newsletters are necessary. When this happens Argus issues data corrections in both G-code and CSV file formats.
G-code style data corrections are placed in a single daily file in the corrections folder of the legacy files FTP site (ftp.petroleumargus.com).
Each file can consist of corrections for multiple dates and for any data series. Corrections are posted on the FTP site as and when they are issued, but no more than one file per day.
Data clients are urged to download the corrections file daily and process any applicable corrections into their data store. G-code corrections are also sent to clients who subscribe for daily email data delivery. Argus G-code corrections are available to data subscribers at the following location ftp://ftp.petroleumargus.com/DATA/COR/.
CSV style corrections are not published in separate data files. They are part of the next scheduled data file but to differentiate between new and corrected data there is a Record Status field in the CSV data files.
The values are either “N” for new or “C” for correction (see documentation section). Clients should ensure that they handle the corrected records to replace (or to add if a correction is for a data omission) records in their data store.
Note: Historical corrections in CSV file format will not appear in scheduled data files, they will only appear when clients request or purchase historical Argus data. These files may contain Record Status = "H".
