NNPC upstream arm targets 250,000 b/d by 2015
Johannesburg, 20 June (Argus) — Nigerian state-owned NNPC is looking to boost upstream arm NPDC's crude production to 250,000 b/d by 2015.
NPDC currently produces around 90,000 b/d.
NNPC is transferring its majority shares in a number of onshore and shallow-water blocks being sold by partners Shell, Total and Italy's Eni to NPDC to meet the higher production target.
NNPC and Shell have agreed to “collaborate to make the NPDC a world class exploration and production company,” NNPC said today.
