Houston, 14 September (Argus) — Magellan Midstream Partners began operating a heated storage and blending terminal for biodiesel in Des Moines, Iowa.
The terminal offers B2, B5, B10 and B20 biodiesel blends of between 2-20pc biofuel mixed with diesel, and includes a 5,000 bl heated and insulated tank and associated heated and insulated pipelines to the truck rack. Biodiesel is blended as diesel is injected into transport trucks.
“This state-of-the-art system offers our customers accuracy, quality and a variety of biodiesel blend options,” company director of transportation and marketing Shawn Baker said.
The company now offers biodiesel blending at terminals in 12 cities and five states.
