Further Greek refinery strike planned

London, 1 November (Argus) — The Panhellenic Federation of Employees in Refineries and Chemical Industry will participate in a 48-hour general strike called by the Greek General Confederation of Labour (GSEE) against government austerity measures.

This will be the third national strike that refinery workers have taken taken part in since the end of September. The last strike was a 24-hour stoppage on 18 October.

In addition to the work stoppage, rallies are being planned outside the Greek parliament to coincide with debates scheduled to take place on the budget and other reform measures.
