Daily pricing for Mideast Gulf and Indian Ocean oil products

Singapore, 6 February 2012

Global energy price reporting agency Argus has started a daily price update for the Argus Mideast Gulf and Indian Ocean Products (AMGIOP) report. The report has been providing a range of product assessments and in-depth analysis of the naphtha, gasoline, jet fuel, gasoil and fuel oil markets in the Mideast Gulf and Indian Ocean on a weekly basis since March 2011.The move to daily from weekly prices, in response to subscriber requests, will better reflect an actively traded daily spot market.

The AMGIOP daily report is part of Argus’ continuing commitment to extend its coverage of the Mideast Gulf, which is developing into an important trading hub for refined products. Argus opened its Dubai office in February 2009 to foster better links with regional industry participants.

Argus Media chairman and chief executive Adrian Binks said: “As Mideast Gulf states and India emerge as both suppliers of oil products as well as key markets for imported products, there has been an acknowledged need for refined products pricing that focuses on the region. We are pleased to be able to provide the market with this new service that reflects the changes in regional trade flows and brings much needed transparency to the market.”

Argus will host its second Mideast Gulf and Indian Ocean Oil Conference in Dubai on 21-22 March 2012 at Jumeirah Emirates Towers, Dubai, following the success of its inaugural conference last year. The conference is targeted at the trading community and will focus on evolving trading patterns in the Mideast Gulf and the Indian Ocean.
