 CEG Logo

Clean Electricity Generation B.V. (CEG) from the Netherlands creates and realizes sustainable energy solutions through biomass conversion by torrefaction. It has commissioned its first two commercial production lines for torrefied pellets in Derby (UK) with a capacity of 30.000 tons per annum.

CEG’s proprietary torrefaction reactor converts biomass into bio carbon products like bio coal for conventional power and heating plants, biochar and activated carbon. The unique process simultaneously generates green electricity.

The electricity and bio carbon products will be produced with no net energy imported from non-renewable systems, which is an important factor for qualification for abundant subsidy programs.

CEG has a second plant under construction in Estonia with a capacity of 200.000 tons per annum.

 MBS logo Midlands Biomass Solutions

 Espe Logo
ESPE designs, manufactures and installs reliable green energy systems since 1974. The company’s expertise covers wind turbines, cogenerators and biomass-based solutions, hydroelectric turbines and power plants, photovoltaic solutions, and highly energy-efficient solutions that integrate the production of clean electricity with the heating and cooling systems of the building.

The experience gained in design and construction of electrical systems and industrial automation has been essential in building the CHiP50 cogenerator, which is designed for small and medium-sized businesses and is able to cogenerate 49kW of electricity and 110kW of heat.

The operating principle is the gasification of wood chips, which produces a gas (Syngas) used to produce electricity by means of an endothermic engine. Heat is obtained from cooling of both the gasification and cogeneration sub-units. This technology offers an ideal solution for optimising the pellet manufacturing process, for those producers that want to maximise their revenues.

“It was a great opportunity for me to get face to face with people who already recognised the need for moisture measurement, and discuss how NDC can make clear returns on investment possible with accurate and stable measurements using NIR (near infrared). I was delighted that we closed an order based on a lead that started with the Argus Biomass show.”
