Joe Duffy joined Argus DeWitt in 2009 as vice-president ethylene, polymers and derivatives for Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He previously worked for ICI, Huntsman and Saudi company Sabic, where he was responsible for the business management of Sabic’s olefins business in Europe. At Argus DeWitt, Joe has worked on a number of consultancy projects covering the structure of the European olefins markets, investment opportunities in the Middle East and the potential for ethane imports to Europe.

Francis has extensive experience of oil and energy forecasting and consulting and over the years has worked for a number of the leading consulting companies, including Petroleum Economics, EMC - Energy Market Consultants, KBC Advanced Technology, WoodMackenzie and Icis.

During his career he has worked extensively in both the upstream and downstream sectors of the oil industry, covering the full value chain from crude production through to refining and developing forecasts and forward looking analysis of market fundamentals, prices and margins. He has also worked in natural gas forecasting as well as coal and power.

From his early days as a researcher, Francis has performed a wide range of analytical functions to become a lead consultant and manager, working on numerous single-client project assignments, making regular presentations to retainer clients, supervising preparation of regular market outlook reports on the crude oil, refined products and gas markets and speaking at conferences.

Nick Black is vice president, LPG Naphtha and Petrochemicals. Nick has 30 years’ experience in the oil industry and 21 years at Argus. He has an MA degree from Oxford University and speaks at LPG functions across the globe.

Ernst Brandstaetter started his career with SHV in 1979. He worked in various positions with Primagaz Austria, before taking the post of Chief Financial Officer in 1981. He was Managing Director of Primagaz Central Europe between 2002 and 2008. Ernst then moved to Paris to assume his current role as General Manager of SHV Gas Supply & Risk Management with offices in Paris, Vienna and Singapore.
Nicola Williams, ClarksonNicola Williams, Director, Clarksons Platou

Nicola Williams is a Director of Clarksons Platou, the world’s largest shipping services provider.

Since joining the gas division in 1999, she has been responsible for analysis of market fundamentals and freight across the gas carrier fleet, LPG, ammonia and petrochemical gas markets. Responsibilities include preparing performance and benchmarking reviews, business development, market analysis, consultancy and logistics strategy evaluation. She speaks regularly at international LPG, ammonia and petrochemical conferences and workshops and is a guest lecturer for the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers and Regent’s University, London.

After completing a postgraduate degree in politics and economics of developing economies at Cambridge University, she joined Clarksons in 1995, where she worked as a tanker analyst in Clarkson Research.

David Appleton is a Senior Analyst at Argus, specialising in LPG. He is responsible for delivery of the global and European LPG statistical reviews that Argus publishes in partnership with WLPGA and AEGPL each year, as well as leading other LPG projects.

Prior to joining Argus, David spent six years at the European LPG Association, where in his role as public affairs manager, he promoted and defended the interests of the downstream European LPG sector in the Brussels energy policy sphere.
David holds a BscEcon in European Studies and a Masters in International Development.

Kristen is a Senior Manager in the London office, providing analysis and developing strategy for energy clients. Chief Executive, UKLPG

Rob has been Chief Executive of UKLPG, the trade association for the UK’s LPG industry, since its inception in 2007. UKLPG governs the technical and safety standards for the industry, represents the interests of its members to Government and other stakeholders and communicates to the market as a whole on behalf of the industry.

Rob joined UKLPG from ConocoPhillips where he was Business Unit Manager for their wholesale LPG operation, a post he held from 2001 to 2006. Prior to joining the LPG industry, he held a series of positions within ConocoPhillips including responsibility for Jet petrol sales promotions, forecourt marketing, brand and retail store development as well as bottom line responsibility for North of England and Scottish Jet Company Owned outlets. 

Rob has a background in travel and transport marketing and holds an MA in Geography from the University of Aberdeen.

Borut Sočič, Head of LPG Development, Petrol Slovenia

Borut has worked at Slovenian energy firm Petrol d.d. since 1997 in various capacities, including oil products trading in 1997-2000 and the LPG business since 2001. He is currently head of the LPG department, and is responsible for developing the firm’s LPG business in Slovenia — including autogas, cylinders and bulk supply — as well as in southeast Europe, where Petrol is expanding its presence. He was president of the Slovenian LPG Association in 2010-14. 
Joel Pedessac, General Manager, French Committee of Butane and Propane

Joel Pedessac has been general manager of French LPG association CFBP since 2004. He is a board member of the European LPG Association, a board member and treasurer of the French Gas Association and treasurer of the Energies and Avenir and Coenove associations.
