Global energy and commodity price reporting agency Argus held the fourth Argus Russian Crude Market conference in Moscow on June 20th. The event was held with the support of Russian pipeline operator Transneft. Delegates included, representatives from leading Russian energy firms Rosneft, Surgutneftegas, Novatek and Bashneft, senior officials from the Federal Tax Service, trading and shipping companies and the largest buyers of Russian crudes from Europe and Asia-Pacific.
Industry experts, traders, analysts and regulators discussed the key trends shaping the situation on Russian and international oil markets:
- changes in Russian tax law and the implications for the oil industry
- evolution of the European oil market and the prospects for Russian market pricing for Urals
- market development, ESPO pipeline and the possibility of a new price benchmark in Asia
- the future of the Russian crude market, ways to manage price risks for producers
Conference highlights included presentations by Transneft deputy vice-president Igor Katsal, Federal Tax Service’s acting director for transfer pricing Vladimir Golishevsky and senior managing director of Spimex Anton Karpov. As well as reports by Argus specialists from our Hong Kong and Beijing offices on Asia-Pacific crude markets and the demand outlook for Russian crude.
The next conference will be held in the summer of 2015.
