Over 300 representatives of 140 companies from 33 countries took part in Argus LPG 2014 international conference in Saint Petersburg on 9-11 April. This was the ninth annual conference focused on LPG market hosted by Argus Media. The traditional title partner of the event was again SIBUR company. The conference was also sponsored by Impeksneftekhim, Alexela Logistics AS, Blueline Group and Baltic Trans Gas.

Argus LPG 2014 is a traditional event that brings together key LPG producers and importers, trading and shipping companies from the former Soviet Union, Baltic states and eastern Europe.

The first day of the conference focused on the latest trends in the global LPG market and industry outlook. Delegates discussed the supply and demand balance in Europe, development of LPG market in eastern and central Europe, forecasts of LPG output in Russia and Kazakhstan as well as exports. One of the central points of the discussion was the use of liquefied petroleum gas as a feedstock in petrochemical sector. During the round table session market participants exchanged their views on LPG pricing in eastern Europe.

Second-day discussions centered on seaborne LPG shipments and the Turkish market. The delegates discussed the supplies through Baltic and Black Sea terminals and railway transportation perspectives.

Among the key speakers during the conference were the representatives of SIBUR-Portenergo, Impeksneftekhim , Oteko, Varnaferry, Gazpromtrans, SDS-MASH, Primagaz Central Europe, Argus DeWitt, Avestra Chemical (Beijing) Commerce Trading, GASPOL, Bulrom Gas Impex, Latvijas Propāna Gāze, Alexela Logistics AS, AYGAZ, Novotek-Trading.

Conference participants had a unique opportunity to visit an operational LPG terminal in Ust-Luga, one of the largest such facilities in Russia. The tenth Argus LPG FSU and eastern Europe conference is scheduled for April 2015.
