Russia's Rosneft lifts second-quarter crude production
London, 26 July (Argus) — Russian state-controlled oil firm Rosneft produced 2.32mn b/d of crude in the second quarter this year, up by 8.8pc on the same period last year and up by 1.2pc on the first quarter of this year.
The Vankor and Verkhnechonsk fields in eastern Siberia drove the growth in production, the company said today.
Rosneft's refining output in the second quarter totalled 11.2mn t (900,000 b/d), down by 7.5pc compared with the first quarter. Rosneft did not give a figure for the second quarter of last year for comparison. Company president Sergei Bogdanchikov said last week that Rosneft will spend $7bn modernising its refineries.
