Nigeria details June oil product imports
Johannesburg, 27 July (Argus) — Nigeria imported 928,000t (260,000 b/d) of gasoline in June, down from 1.12mn t in the previous month, the country's Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) said today.
Gasoil imports reached 287,000t (71,000 b/d) in June, up from 275,000t the previous month. Dual-purpose kerosine imports in June were 101,000t (27,000 b/d), up from 94,000t in May, the DPR said.
Nigeria is a leading importer of refined products. It has a refining capacity of 445,000 b/d, but crude and electricity supply problems and lack of investment limited refinery runs to around 20pc of available capacity in June.
