Houston, 27 July (Argus) — Crosstex Energy will expand its natural gas gathering system in the Barnett shale with a $25mn, 15-mile pipeline project that can transport up to 100mn cf/d (2.8mn m³/d), the company said.
The project, which is already supported by volumetric commitments, includes a seven-mile low-pressure pipeline, an eight-mile high-pressure pipeline and a compressor station in southwest Tarrant County that will provide customers with greater takeaway capacity. The pipeline is slated to be operational in the first-quarter of 2011.
The company will continue to invest in low-cost, high-return projects in north Texas, as well as the Haynesville shale and throughout Louisiana, Barry Davis, Crosstex president and chief executive, said.
