Angel Alvarez Alberdi has been Secretary General of European waste-to-advanced biofuels association EWABA since its creation in 2013. Calliope is currently leading research on understanding the needs for new biomass policy interventions, and how these can be integrated with climate and energy policies in the Green Deal in four Horizon 2020 projects. Sophie joined the Argus Biofuels team in 2020 and is responsible for the daily coverage of European biofuel feedstock markets. Within her role, Sophie analyses relevant legislative and regulatory changes, follows trends in demand & supply, international trade and produces daily price assessments. Furthermore, she has specialised in the main European biofuel ticket markets – Germany, the Netherlands and the UK – by assessing the cost of compliance to national blending targets. She has been with Argus since 2018, reporting on downstream oil markets for some of the company’s flagship products. Prior to joining Argus, Sophie completed a master’s degree in EU Politics at the London School of Economics.
