Steve is a current board member of the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies and has previously served on the boards of Canadian Oil Sands Limited, the Alberta Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society and Foundation (STARS) and the Canada Institute. Steve is a past member of the board of governors for the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP). Holding a master’s degree in both mining engineering and business administration, Steve is a Chartered Engineer, an European Engineer and has attended post-graduate courses at IMD in Switzerland and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Danielle’s public policy experience began with an internship at the Fraser Institute. She was also elected as a trustee for the Calgary board of education and served as the director of the Alberta Property Rights Initiative and the Canadian Property Rights Research Institute. She was also the director of provincial affairs for Alberta with the Canadian Federation of Independent Business. Most recently she was a Member of the Legislative Assembly for Highwood, leader of the Official Opposition, and leader of the Wildrose Party. Before entering politics, Danielle had extensive experience in the media. She was an editorial writer and columnist at the Calgary Herald for six years. She served as host of Global Sunday, a national current affairs television talk show, and was also the host of two programs on CKMX 1060 AM radio in Calgary, Health Frontiers and Standing Ground. She has made frequent guest appearances as a commentator on TV and radio. She married her husband, David Moretta in 2006 and is the proud stepmother of David’s son Jonathan. Michael Tran is a Managing Director within the Energy Strategy Research team at RBC Capital Markets based in New York. He is responsible for views pertaining to global energy markets including macro supply and demand fundamentals. He was formerly in a similar capacity at CIBC World Markets where he was part of a team that was previously voted most accurate forecaster of WTI oil prices by Bloomberg. Prior to that, he worked on the energy sales and trading desk at CIBC in Calgary and UBS Investment Bank in London. He has also held various roles at BP and has experience in energy investment banking. Mr. Tran's energy views are frequently quoted in media outlets and he routinely appears on television networks like Bloomberg and BNN. Mr. Tran frequently provides market insight to the Alberta government on issues pertaining to energy policy and budgeting. He serves on the Board of Directors of the New York Energy Forum and is also a former co-chair of the Commodities committee for New York Energy Week. He graduated with distinction from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Finance and Economics.

Named by the Alberta Venture magazine as one of the 50 most influential people in Alberta for 2014, Dr. Wenran Jiang is adjunct professor at the School of Public Policy and Global Affairs, University of British Columbia, Global Fellow at the Woodrow Wilson International Centre for Scholars in Washington DC, and Special Advisor on China to the US and Canada based Energy Council. He is also the President of Canada-China Energy and Environment Forum and its annual conference since 2004. Dr. Jiang was a tenured professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Alberta, and was the special advisor to Alberta Department of Energy on Asian market diversification from 2012 to 2014. Dr. Jiang is also the Founding Director (2005-08) of the University’s China Institute. He was the mission advisor to Natural Resources Minister Jim Carr for his China visit in June 2017, and is currently advising Alaska Legislature on the $43 billion Alaska-Sinopec LNG project. In recent years, Dr. Jiang has advised government agencies, private companies in energy, mining, forestry and agricultural sectors on Asian market access and how to engage China, with a particular focus on energy efficiency and environmentally friendly technologies. He is currently completing a book on why Canada needs to diversify its energy market to Asia.

Dinara is responsible for managing the Institute's research agenda including leading the oil sands projects, assisting in the production of market research, economic analysis and economic modeling. Ms. Millington has participated in various projects involving oil sands, crude oil, natural gas, LNG, and renewable energy. Dinara is also Editor-in-Chief of the Institute's Quarterly Reports Reports on crude oil and natural gas and provides economic commentary for CBC, Global TV, The Globe and Mail, the BNN and other local, national and international news outlets. Dinara graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Calgary, specializing in Econometrics and Time-series Analysis. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with minor in Finance. Ms. Millington spent some time studying at Masarykov University in Brno, Czech Republic, as well as worked and lived abroad in Kazakhstan.

Ed Koshka provides consulting services for clients in areas of business development, operations, upgrading, refining, pipeline and rail transportation, and marketing of conventional and oil sands crude. Mr. Koshka has over 32 years of industry related experience and is currently working with several companies developing oil sands strategies related to pipeline and rail transportation, marketing, and new oil sands technology innovations including partial upgrading of bitumen. Previously, Mr. Koshka worked at Calgary based companies MEG Energy, US Oil Sands, ET Energy and Ivanhoe Energy. In addition to working on crude marketing and transportation initiatives, Mr. Koshka worked to implement new oil sands technologies and develop business relationships with joint venture partners.
