Bernard Law is an editor responsible for chlor-alkali and vinyl market in Asia. He joins Argus Media in early 2017 as one of the key members of the start-up team for Argus’s newly established Chlor-Alkali Vinyl Service. He has more than 25 years of experience in the chemical industry in Asia, holding various responsibilities in market and competitive analysis, benchmarking, sales, marketing and business development. Prior to joining Argus Media, he has been working as principal analyst for Harriman Chemsult Ltd since 2004 and subsequently with IHS as both merged. He has been generating benchmarking pricing and assessments, including those of Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, caustic to alumina index. His in-depth knowledge and network with the chlor-alkali industries has further strengthened Harriman Chemsult and IHS’s position in the chlor-alkali and vinyl market and established the main pricing index of the industries in the region. Prior to joining Harriman Chemsult Ltd, he has more than thirteen years of commercial experience for specialty and commodity chemical, covering the Asia Pacific region. Rajesh Shethia is a Chartered Accountant by education and an Entrepreneur by passion. After completing education in Commerce from Mumbai he started his chemical business and has been in the Caustic Soda business for more than 20 years. He is the Managing Director of Hiranyavarnaam Chemicals and Alkalis Pte Ltd. He is based in Singapore and is involved in trading of Chlor Alkali products in and out of Asia, Africa and the Mediterranean. Soeren Duvier has more than 25 years of experience across various sectors including transportation, logistics, shipping, finance, healthcare, and oil and gas. Soeren was the Managing Director at Blockchain in Transport alliance (BiTa), which was established with the aim of assisting companies to develop and adopt blockchain applications in the supply chain and logistics industry. While working with A.P. Moller-Maersk, Soeren held various roles across different departments within the organisation. As the Managing Director of ICAP Shipping Pte. George Eisenhauer is Editor, Chlor-Alkali, Americas, based in Boston. He joined Argus to establish the new Argus Chlor-Alkali and Derivatives service and provide consulting expertise for chlor-alkali, vinyls and caustic soda clients and single- and multi-client studies. Prior to joining Argus, George worked at IHS in the Chlor-Alkali and Vinyls group where he supported the weekly chlor-alkali publication and the monthly and annual products. He began his professional career at Union Carbide as a process/project engineer supporting a number of plants, including ethylene oxide, oxide derivatives, olefins, acrolein, acrylic acid and infrastructure. When Dow Chemical acquired Union Carbide, he directed projects for polypropylene plants at Seadrift and Freeport, Texas. Dr. Ding Ovi Lian joined Energy Research Institute @ NTU (Nanyang Technological University) in 2010 as a research fellow, overseeing the fuel cell projects and laboratory operation and expansion. In 2016, he took up the position of Programme Director of Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Technologies. His research background lies in hydrocarbon reforming and purification, and simulation modeling related to fuel cells. His other research interests lie in the field of renewable energies such as wind and solar.
