Maarten Staal has over 15 years’ experience at BASF ranging from research in performance materials to application technology in the agriculture sector. After earning his MSc in chemical engineering and PhD in polymer chemistry, Maarten Staal joined BASF in 2006 as laboratory manager in polymer research in Germany. In 2009, he was tasked with setting up and leading an application technology and delivery optimization lab for BASF’s Agricultural Solutions division in the US. With the acquisition of Becker Underwood in 2013, he became part of the R&D integration team and continued his work in Germany as R&D portfolio integration manager. In 2015, he established the application lab for BASF’s nitrogen management portfolio and is currently heading the N-Management technical sales team.

Oliver has more than 20 years of experience in business analysis and consulting, and he was also one of the founders of Integer. Oliver has worked extensively on multi-client and bespoke fertilizer market analysis studies, covering market forecasts, strategy, due diligence, market entry and project feasibility. He has worked as an analyst on all the key fertilizer and related chemical markets: nitrogen, phosphates, potash, sulphur and sulphuric acid. Oliver is a graduate of economics and development economics from the University of Manchester in the UK.
