Mike Nash is the editor of Argus’ weekly phosphates reports and also the main contributor to the Argus monthly phosphates outlook report. He has 15 years of experience covering the international phosphates and other fertilizer markets for a variety of UK-based price reporting agencies. He has also covered international energy and petrochemical markets and previously edited a number of manufacturing and engineering titles in the UK. Mike is an experienced speaker; he has presented papers at various international industry events including AFA Cairo in 2011 and 2014 and GPCA in Dubai, TSI World Symposium, the FAI conference in Delhi as well as at many Argus events around the world and at numerous investor events and conferences. Mike is based in London. He is a graduate of Reading University with a BSc Hons degree in geography and economics and post-graduate studies in marketing.

Steve Hallam took a degree in agriculture, and then worked in sales and marketing in the animal feed industry for several years. In 1995 he left to become a self employed market researcher and planner, carrying out work for around 100 organisations, covering many business and public sectors. In 2014 he took on the part time (in theory) role as Secretary of the International Fertiliser Society. This has mainly involved organising the two conferences that the Society runs each year, boosting awareness of the Society’s unique archive of over 830 technical papers on fertilisers and crop nutrition, and growing Society membership. He is particularly pleased to have driven the establishment of the Brian Chambers International Award for Early Career Researchers in Crop Nutrition, organised and funded by the Society.

Kevin has worked on improving nutrient use efficiency for all of his career spanning over 40 years in the international fertilizer industry, firstly with Phosyn plc, then Yara. Kevin has authored many papers and strategic reports on ‘Value-Added’Fertilizers of every type and was appointed Honorary CTO of Kingenta Group of China in early 2014 to support their R&D, Production and Market development programmes internationally. After University, Luc began his career at the Belgian Administration for Development Cooperation. During this time he was lecturing in soil science and soil conservation and responsible for research in these fields, along with project evaluation. In 1982, he joined the United Nations as the Team Leader of the Fertilizer Advisory, Development and Information Network for Asia and the Pacific, based in Bangkok. In 1987, he joined IFA, first as its Executive Secretary responsible for Agro-Economic and Technical matters, later as its Deputy Secretary General, Secretary General and finally Director General. Luc Maene has been during many years Vice Chairman of the Board of the International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC). He is past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fertilizer Industry Round Table (FIRT). He was a member of the Board of Directors of CEDAP, the French organization of Association Leaders and is Immediate Past President of the European Society of Association Executives (ESAE). He has served on The Center for Association Leadership Board of Directors. He was awarded a Doctorate honoris causa in Agriculture by the University Putra Malaysia (UPM) in 2006. He is currently Visiting Professor in the Department of Land Management, Faculty of Agriculture of the University Putra Malaysia. After obtaining his degree from Leeds University and PhD in chemical engineering from Imperial College London, he joined ICI’s paints division and worked in the research department for three years. He was then with RioTinto Borax for 19 years, focusing on product development for the borate and agricultural sectors. These new products included soluble micro-granules, compacted granules, spherical granules and liquid suspensions for micronutrients and fertilisers. He is the author of several publications and patents.

Pawel Malarczyk began his professional career 18 years ago. During this time frame he ran marketing, sales and development projects for many companies including two state-owned companies: LOTOS Asfalt (petrochemicals, bitumens), being the co-author of the best sales result in the history of the company, and ORLEN Oil (lubricants), representing company`s interests on the world stage. In the agricultural business he is present since 2016 and in the fertilizers industry since 2017 when he joined Ekoplon company starting from the position of export director (12 countries, mainly in Europe). From June 2018, his post includes the Business Unit Director's position, managing the departments of sales (Domestic sales in Poland and Export) as well as R&D. His current activity direction aims at increasing turnover in current sales markets (in Europe and outside), entering new sales markets, co-development of new products and their implementation, but above all presentation of Ekoplon to a larger audience and building international awareness about the Polish producer with a 30-year tradition.
