Over 100 companies took part in the Argus LPG Moscow 2018 conference
The Argus Media Argus LPG Moscow 2018 conference took place on 19–20 April at Four Seasons Hotel Moscow.
For the 13th time this event brings together the participants of the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) market: leading producers, exporters and importers, as well as representatives of trading and transportation companies. The conference has already gained the status of the largest LPG industry event in Russia, the FSU and eastern Europe.
More than 250 delegates from 110 companies and over 25 countries attended the event. Participants in Argus LPG Moscow 2018 discussed the latest trends in the global LPG market, current issues of export and transit, outlook for regional markets, infrastructure and transportation projects, as well as pricing and trade in the liquefied gas market.
The general partner of the conference was traditionally Sibur, one of the largest Russian producers and exporters of LPG. The event was also supported by Avestra, Impexneftekhim, Spectr Trading and Ville Forte Ukraine. This year the conference enjoyed the informational support of the World LPG Association (WLPGA) and the Polish LPG Association (POGP).
The first day of the event was dedicated to the discussion of global trends in the consumption of liquefied gas, the development of the LPG market in the FSU and Europe and exports of Russian LPG, including market dynamics and new opportunities for supplies to China.
Mikhail Dubik, head of Argus Media in Russia and FSU, and Oleg Makarov, executive director of Sibur, addressed the guests of the event with welcoming remarks.
James Rockall, Chief Executive and Managing Director of WLPGA, spoke about the key trends in the global LPG market and noted the huge potential of LPG for use in the bunkering and household sectors.
In turn, Ernst Brandstaetter, CEO of SHV Gas Supply & Risk Management, delivered a report on the LPG market development in Europe, specifically, about the increase in petrochemical demand for liquefied gas in northern and central Europe.
Alexey Markov, head of Hydrocarbon Marketing and Sales of SIBUR, spoke about the performance of and outlook for the Russian LPG market. He also reported on the construction of the ZapSibNeftekhim complex and new projects of the company.
On the second day of the conference, the participants discussed trading practices in the international LPG market, liquefied gas transportation and infrastructure projects.
Representatives of AYGAZ, Euro Gas, Dorian LPG, KraisNeft, UPK GROUP, Borealis Polymers, ElGas, Sinchi Gas, VYGON Consulting, GTT, SunLight Petroleum also spoke during the event.
The next LPG conference will be held in April 2019.
