Arab Union for Cement and Building Materials (AUCBM) is an inter-Arab organization, affiliated to the Council of Arab Economic Unity; it was founded in 1977. It aims at developing and supporting technical, industrial and commercial relations; coordinating industrial activities amongst its members in the field of cement and building materials; and participating in suggesting general grounds for developing these industries in Arab countries in order to achieve technical and economic integration among Arab countries through practicing its tasks, responsibilities. The AUCBM members of cement and building materials companies, establishments and research centers are 113 institutions from 18 Arab countries.
ASSOCARBONI is a not for profit association founded in 1897 that brings together national and international companies operating in the solid fuels sector, with headquarters in Rome. On a national level the Association is member of Confindustria Energia. On an international level, Assocarboni is member of CIAB (Coal Industry Advisory Board) – a section of the International Energy Agency of Paris, which brings together more than 40 companies from 14 different countries, of WCA (World Coal Association) in London and of the “Working Party on Coal” of the UNECE Energy Committee in Geneva. Since 1999 Andrea Clavarino has been Chairman of Assocarboni.
