Port of Tarragona
The Port of Tarragona (POT) is located in one of the most important industrial areas in the Mediterranean, next to the South Europe major chemical cluster (ChemMed) where all the main raw materials are imported. The Petrochemical complex in Tarragona is extensive and account for 50% of the Spanish plastic production. It is a concentration of manufacturing and processing, as a consequence of the excellent location and accessibility from the area to the inner European markets. The Port of Tarragona continues to be one of the most important and leading Ports in Spain with 34 million tons handled in 2017. To become a more secure, sustainable and involved Port for chemical and petrochemical products POT strives to improve its installations and services each and every day. Traffic jams do not exist in Tarragona and additional benefits are provided such as the deepest water depth in the Mediterranean Sea.

Port-La Nouvelle is France’s 3rd largest Mediterranean port (2 Mt / year). It operates 60% of liquid bulk. In order to support its continuous development (+ 4,86 % in 2017), the Port will proceed with a major deep sea expansion for ships up to 14.50 m draft (dredging at -16m), corresponding to vessels of 60 to 80,000 deadweight tonnes. Delivery of the first new port facilities is expected by 2022. An area of 80 hectares, out of which 14 ha are already available is dedicated to industrial sites. Investors are welcome to propose projects for a new liquid terminal, storage facilities or factories.
