Robert is Senior Vice President of Strategic Business Development for Sumitomo SHI FW. He is responsible for technology, product and market strategy and forecasting, as well as, development of emerging markets. He also steer’s the company’s R&D and intellectual property strategy. Over the past 6 years, Robert has been studying ways to improve the energy efficiency and economics of oil by coupling refinery byproducts to power and industrial markets. He has published several papers on the topic and continues to actively develop projects using these high value solutions. Robert started his career over 30 years ago with a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

A native of New York, Lauren has lived in Washington, DC, since 2006.

Before joining KAPSARC, Jitendra was Director and Chief Consultant at HDR|Salva, India where he worked with clients worldwide. He has worked extensively as a commodity consultant within the energy and infrastructure sectors in India advising on developing market entry strategies. He has authored and contributed to numerous consulting studies related to coal and coal policy on India, Indonesia and China. Jitendra has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Pune, India.

From there he moved to EdF where he worked as a fuel originator, working as part of a team that sourced 10mn t/yr of coal and 250,000 t/yr of biomass for UK power plants. Freddie joined Argus as business development manager in January 2014, focusing on growing the company’s coal, iron ore, petroleum coke and biomass indexation and coverage.

For the Past 7 years, George was based in Egypt facing the challenges of the fuel crisis for the cement industry and played a leadership role with the fuel mix evolution for the LafargeHolcim operations in Egypt and the MEA region. Previously, George was with Commonwealth Development Corporation (CDC) and Pearson Education in various capacities in Africa and Middle East. George has also served as chairperson for various Industrial Associations and Government Advisory Committees on energy optimization strategies in several countries in the region.
