Dorothée Arns is executive director of industry association Petrochemicals Europe, formerly APPE, and leads industry body Cefic’s petrochemicals and plastic additives programme. In her first Cefic assignment, in 2006-11, Dorothée headed the European Solvents Industry Group. Paul is Vice-President for C4 Olefins and Derivatives for Argus Media. Paul held various sales and business management positions with Diamond Shamrock Chemicals, OxyChem, Huntsman, Altivia, and TPC Group over a 38-year career in the industrial chemical industry. Beginning with OxyChem’s acquisition of Cain Chemicals in 1986, Paul moved into the olefins and aromatics side of the industry in major account management and development, specialising in North American contract butadiene sales. Since joining DeWitt in 2007 Paul has been the C4 Business Consultant, with emphasis on the global butadiene markets. Argus Media acquired DeWitt in 2012. Argus Media serves clients that produce, consume and trade butadiene and butadiene derivatives around the world. Paul holds a BA in philosophy from The Ohio State University.

Jimmy Levine is VP, Ethylene and Derivatives, based in Houston. He serves as Argus’ key subject matter expert in the ethylene and derivatives markets, develops detailed analysis of the US and global ethylene and polymers industries, and oversees preparation of Argus’ ethylene reports, including Argus Ethylene and Derivatives, Argus Olefins Outlook and Argus Ethylene Analytics. He also communicates unique insight to clients to help them understand these markets and any potential risks and rewards, and maintains forecasts and forward views of the markets so that clients can optimise their business results. Jimmy worked for 25 years at Dow Chemical, where he spent time managing global supply for the ethylene and olefins and derivatives business, six years in global business planning, and the second half of his tenure in global hydrocarbons, energy commercial, supply chain and olefins and polyolefins business optimisation. In 2011 he joined Cargill, where he helped build and manage a hedging business in ethylene, propylene, polyethylene and polypropylene. Jimmy has a BSc in chemical engineering from Mississippi State University and graduated summa cum laude.

Dave McCaskill has been invested in the petrochemical industry for over 35 years. Beginning his long career with Celanese Chemical in 1975, Dave started as a chemical engineer at their Pampa, Texas plant, and steadily progressed through a series of positions ranging from planning, supply chain, field sales and marketing within the organization. Noted positions included Business Manager Ethylene Oxide/Ethylene Glycol and the last several years with the company as Business Manager Methanol & Derivatives. In 2000, Dave moved into the consulting sector and worked with another leading industry consulting organization, heading their Global Methanol service for 10 years. Joining DeWitt & Company in 2010, as Vice President Methanol & Derivatives, Dave continues to be focused on all commercial aspects of the methanol industry—supply, demand, capacity, pricing, cost structure, etc. Dave graduated from the University of Kansas, with a degree in chemical engineering, in 1975.

He has more than 30 years of experience of analysing and consulting on global oil and gas markets and during this time has worked for a number of consultancies. Prior to joining Argus, Francis was Head of Analytics at Icis. He has also held positions at Saudi Petroleum Overseas, refining consultancy KBC Advanced Technologies and research firm Wood Mackenzie.

Sarah has worked with Argus since March 2012 as the company’s olefins consultant focusing primarily on Europe and the Middle East. For 17 years Sarah held senior strategic purchasing management positions in Ineos, Tessenderlo Chemie (LVM) and Rhodia, responsible for a wide range of material including olefins, fertilizers and commodity raw materials. Prior to this, Sarah held various management and project roles covering most aspects of the chemical business including business management, sales, planning and logistics. She graduated in geology from Leicester University and started her career working for BP Oil.

Paco has more than 16 years of consulting experience in the energy and petrochemical industry. He began his career at Accenture, where he helped petrochemical clients in areas such as business process design and simulation, and mergers and acquisitions. He joined DeWitt as an olefins analyst in 2001 and spent 10 years working on analysis of both olefins and aromatics markets. He then became Manager of Economic Services in 2008. He joined Argus in 2014 after spending three years working for Opportune. Paco holds a BSc in industrial engineering from Texas A&M University and an MBA from Tulane University.

Chuck Venezia is Senior Vice-President, Global Petrochemicals, based in Houston. He is responsible for driving Argus’ global petrochemicals strategy and oversees petrochemical business development. Chuck has more than 30 years of experience in the petrochemical industry. He served as Area Manager, Latin America for Chevron Chemical Company, where he managed the company’s polymer export sales and other chemical sales to Mexico and South America. He then worked for CheMatch as Executive Director, Latin America, focusing on the online trading platform for bulk petrochemicals. Chuck joined DeWitt in 2002 as a Principal. DeWitt was acquired by Argus in 2012. Chuck holds an MBA and MA from Tulane University and a BA from Union College.

Steve Weber is Vice-President of Petrochemical Consulting for Argus DeWitt. Steve began his career with Fina in 1979 as a Process Engineer and had various other assignments in the 1980s in the Economics and Planning and Marine Transportation Groups for Fina in Dallas. In 1989, he moved to the Port Arthur refinery and later became Operations Manager at the site. Steve was named Plant Manager of the Fina/GE Joint Venture Styrene Plant (Cosmar) in 1995 and Refinery Manager at the Big Spring Texas refinery in 1998. In 2000, he returned to Louisiana to manage both the Styrene JV and the Total Petrochemicals Polystyrene Operation. Steve was named Senior Manager of Aromatics for Total in 2005, relocating to Houston. Steve joined DeWitt & Company Inc. in 2011 after spending two years with Solomon Associates in the refining and petrochemical consulting area. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Chemical Engineering and an MBA. Steve is responsible for single client studies for refining and petrochemicals in the Americas.
