Mrs. Marucci graduated in Economics and a Minor in Market Research from Concordia University, Montreal P.Q., Canada. She holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from NOVA Southeastern University. Previous work experience include positions such as Operations Coordinator for South America for Samsung Latin America identifying and advising on business opportunities in the Latin American region, coordinating activities of local managers from each one of the Samsung branches in South America, and developing and implementing a corporate intelligence system among Samsung Offices in South America. From 1992 through 1994 was appointed Economic Advisor to the Embassy of Japan in Panama, acting as liaison between Panamanian Government Officials and the Embassy. She joined the Panama Canal in 1995 and developed a career in market research, specializing in the energy sector. Currently is the Manager of Market Analysis and Customer Relations Division. She is currently responsible for developing tolls policies, evaluating the competitiveness of the route, generating short, medium and long term forecasts, and evaluating the economic impact of the Panama Canal.

Javier became corporate consultant to the board of directors of Decal Panama in 2013, where he is responsible for project evaluation and development in the region. He joined Decal Panama as general manager in 2010, during its terminal expansion project in 2010-12 and was instrumental in the project’s closure. Before this, Javier was appointed general manager of CMA-CGM Panama in 2006, a newly established agency responsible for its own business in Panama. Javier spent the first 26 years of his career with Esso Standard Oil in five countries, including assignments in regional offices in El Salvador and Coral Gables, Florida. His responsibilities ranged from operations, marine manager and controller in Panama, to central America Exxon chemicals manager and acting general manager in Nicaragua, where he was part of a successful negotiation with the government for the recognition/repatriation of $40mn in frozen refining earnings deposited at the Central Bank.

He has a BS in Nautical Science and an unlimited merchant marine master’s license from the United States Merchant Marine Academy.
