Joel has worked in the oil industry since joining Elf Trading in September 1992, and was appointed to the Trading & Shipping Management Committee in 2009. He holds a B.Eng from McMaster University (Ontario, Canada) and a MS in Energy Economics from Université de Grenoble (France). Following his studies, he worked on radio-isotope production in Canada and subsequently, in France, on long-term energy studies for EDF, for DRI, and for the International Energy Agency.

She is active on the Governing Board of the Natural Resource Governance Institute and Member of its Audit and Finance Committee, and Advisory Boards of IKAR Industries and the Payne Institute at the Colorado School of Mines. He has been awarded the ‘Best Procurement Initiative’ award in 2016 in the ‘Manufacturing & Supply Chain Summit 2016’ for his initiatives in fuel sourcing.
