Brazil's Bndes development bank and a management group has made R430mn ($78.4mn) available to develop infrastructure in central-western Mato Grosso state roads.
The investment targets 233.2km (145 miles) managed by the Via Brasil MT-246 Concessionária de Rodovias group. The investments will be divided into R280mn in credit lines and R150mn in debentures. Bndes will account for 53pc of the total investments, while the group will be responsible for the remaining 47pc.
The goal is to improve infrastructure in the central-southern region of the state, in the sections of the MT-246, MT-343, MT-358 and MT-480 highways.
The project set to recover, improve and expand road sections by September 2029.
The concession contract with Via Brasil was signed in 2021 and is valid until 2051.
