<article><p class="lead">Workers are staging 48-hour strikes at all of Total's French refineries and other downstream facilities, in protest at anticipated job losses.</p><p>The CGT union said that no products will leave refinery sites or depots today or tomorrow. The strikes will affect Total's 135,000 b/d Feyzin, 222,000 b/d Donges and 240,000 b/d Gonfreville refineries, its 500,000 t/yr La Mede hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) plant near the Mediterranean port of Lavera, and at its Flandres storage and logistics depot near Dunkirk.</p><p>Total said that the strike "could cause disruptions to supply from certain refineries," but that it "will continue to assure supplies to its service station network and clients."</p><p>The CGT called the strike in support of workers at Total's 93,000 b/d <a href="https://direct.argusmedia.com/newsandanalysis/article/2173802">Grandpuits refinery</a>, where the firm has confirmed it will cease crude refining. Workers have been on strike at Grandpuits since the turn of the year, and last night voted to continue their walkout until at least 11 February.</p><p>Total halted operations at Grandpuits, near Paris, in mid-November after <a href="https://direct.argusmedia.com/newsandanalysis/article/2159819">cracks were found in the pipeline</a> that supplies it with crude. </p><p class="bylines">By Adam Porter</p></article>
