<article><p class="lead">Installed co-generation power capacity reached 20.3GW in Brazil in October, representing almost 11pc of the country's total power generation capacity.</p><p>Brazil has added 763.4MW in co-generation capacity so far this year, with most of it coming from new plants, according to co-generation association Cogen. The country added 135MW in sugarcane-based co-generation and 2.86MW in biogas co-generation plants during October.</p><p>Sugarcane remains the most prevalent source for co-generation plants, with a total installed capacity of 12.2GW, followed by black liquor with 3.4GW.
