Bundesverband Bioenergie BBE

The Bundesverband Bioenergie eV (BBE) is the umbrella organization for bioenergy. It was founded in 1998 to give effective representation in politics and society for the diversity of bioenergy with all its manifestations and technological paths in the electricity, heating and transport sectors. The strengths of the BBE include the integration of specialized industry associations and companies into a strong network. Experts and decision-makers meet at the BBE to analyze political and economic framework conditions and to represent a strong position for the industry. The BBE thus creates a holistic presentation of bioenergy and promotes the exchange between bioenergy, politics and society.

Bioenergy Europe

Bioenergy Europe is the voice of European bioenergy. It aims to develop a sustainable bioenergy market based on fair business conditions. Founded in 1990, Bioenergy Europe is a non-profit, Brussels-based international organisation bringing together 41 associations and 143 companies, as well as academia and research institutes from across Europe.

European Pellet Council (EPC)

The European Pellet Council (EPC) is the voice of the wood pellet sector in Europe. Its members are national pellet associations or related organisations from 18 countries. EPC was founded in 2010 and is a network of Bioenergy Europe. EPC is the platform of the European pellet sector dedicated to solving the issues attached to the transition from a niche product to a major energy commodity ranging from standardisation and certification through to the quality of pellet-using devices amongst others. EPC manages the ENplus® scheme; the world leading wood pellet quality scheme.

International Biomass Torrefaction Council (IBTC)

The International Biomass Torrefaction Council (IBTC) is a Brussels based international platform founded in 2012, which brings together more than 20 companies from all over the world. IBTC was founded by Bioenergy Europe and resulted from the joint efforts of major torrefied biomass stakeholders who decided to create a discussion platform of companies with similar interests. IBTC was also initiated in collaboration with the Dutch Torrefaction Association (DTA). IBTC is a unique network connecting all companies with a shared interest in torrefaction and solid biofuels, connecting industry players and academia for undertaking actions to drive forward torrefied biomass

Methanol Institute

The Methanol Institute (MI) serves as the global trade association for the methanol industry, representing the world’s leading producers, distributors, and technology companies. MI promotes the benefits of methanol as a short and long-term solution for decarbonizing the shipping industry. Founded in 1989 in Washington DC, MI now represents its members from five offices around world in Singapore, Washington DC, Beijing, Brussels and Delhi.

USIPA - The US Industrial Pellet Association

USIPA is a not-for-profit trade association promoting sustainability and safety practices within the US wood energy industry. We advocate for the wood energy sector as a smart solution to climate change, and we support renewable energy policy development around the globe. Our members represent all aspects of the wood pellet export industry, including pellet producers, traders, equipment manufacturers, bulk shippers, and service providers. USIPA was formed 2011 by several industry founders, including Enviva, Georgia Biomass, and The Westervelt Company.

World Bioenergy Association

World Bioenergy Association is an international member organization with a mission to promote the sustainable development of bioenergy on a global level and to support the business environment for bioenergy. With a member base of bioenergy companies, associations, research institutes and individuals from more than 65 countries, WBA represents the voice of the global bioenergy community. WBA activities include publishing factsheets, statistics reports, market reports and position papers on various aspects of bioenergy including policies, technologies, markets, finance etc. WBA also has organized numerous events in the past including workshops, webinars, conferences, and study trips to discuss and debate issues surrounding bioenergy including land use, biodiversity, carbon neutrality, clean energy etc. Moreover, WBA collaborates with various international organizations working in the renewable energy sector via partnerships including IRENA, IEA, REN21, REN Alliance, CPLC, FAO and others.

Bioenergy Insight

Since its launch in 2010, Bioenergy Insight has swiftly built up a reputation for delivering quality news, analysis, market information and technical articles relating to the biomass, biogas and biopower industries. Published six times a year to coincide with leading industry events, it provides ideas and insights for its audience of bioenergy professionals. It is targeted at companies producing biomass fuel in the form of pellets and briquettes, and those using biomass fuel to produce CHP, biogas, biopower, chemicals, heat and liquid biofuels.
