Adrian graduated from Thames Polytechnic in 1982 with an honours degree in International Marketing. After a brief spell in marketing, Adrian started his shipbroking career with GLM, a subsidiary of Powell Duffryn Shipping. Three years later, Adrian joined ICIS-LOR and moved to Paris where he set up the ICIS Chemical Tanker Shipping Report. 1988 saw him move back to the UK, still with ICIS, becoming a Senior Editor, responsible for their Shipping and Base Oil reports. Andy Nicholson works for Argus and is responsible for the aromatics and derivatives consulting business in Europe, the Middle East and India. He has 35 years’ experience in the petrochemical industry, including 13 years with ICI in the UK and Germany and eight years with Rhone-Poulenc/Rhodia in France. Since 2010, Frank has led the Chlorine Institute (CI) where he is responsible for day-to-day operations and for helping to strengthen the Institute’s safety, stewardship and leadership programs. He joined CI in 2005 as Vice President of Transportation and Emergency Preparedness, and continues to guide the industry’s engagement of producers and packagers as well as outreach to customers. Teresa Marques is an electrotechnical and computer engineer and master in operations research at energy-intensive consumer company Bondalti Chemicals, where she co-ordinates the logistics, production planning and energy management areas. Adrian has worked at Mitsui - a major player in both caustic soda and the vinyl feedstock markets – for more than 13 years, mostly heading up its petrochemicals team in London which covers chlor-alkali activities in the EMEA region. Plamen is Product and Marketing Director for Chlor-Alkali and Vinyl in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia at Dow Chemical. He joined Dow in 1990 and has held multiple Product and Market manager positions for the EMEAI region, as well as becoming Country Manager for Bulgaria in 1993 and District Sales Manager for the Balkans in 1996, before relocating to Switzerland in 1997. Plamen has also been Chairman of the European Chlorinated Solvents Association and Chairman of the REACH Steering Committee. He graduated from the Economic University of Sofia, Bulgaria, with a degree in International Economic Relations, and began his career as a purchasing specialist for metals at Rudmetal in Bulgaria. Diana’s role at E4tech supports the widening of the company’s activities in the hydrogen fuel cell sector, including project management of the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Observatory. She has worked in business development throughout her career, with a focus on the innovation sector and the market introduction of new technology. She has spent the last 15 years developing the European market for hydrogen energy across a broad spectrum of applications. Martin Haller is Director of Haller Metals Economics, a boutique consultancy established in 2013 and specialising in the aluminium industry from bauxite to semi-fabricated products. Martin has 30 years of experience in the aluminium industry, ranging from aluminium market analysis and equity research to bespoke consulting assignments. His consulting assignments include advising on raw material contract pricing, aluminium offtake agreements, the socioeconomic impact of greenfield smelters, pre-feasibility work for smelters, refineries and downstream facilities, valuation exercises and model verification. He has more than 25 years of experience in the chemical industry in Asia, holding various responsibilities in market and competitive analysis, benchmarking, sales, marketing and business development. Prior to joining Argus Media, he has been working as principal analyst for Harriman Chemsult Ltd since 2004 and subsequently with IHS as both merged. He has been generating benchmarking pricing and assessments, including those of Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, caustic to alumina index. His in-depth knowledge and network with the chlor-alkali industries has further strengthened Harriman Chemsult and IHS’s position in the chlor-alkali and vinyl market and established the main pricing index of the industries in the region. Prior to joining Harriman Chemsult Ltd, he has more than thirteen years of commercial experience for specialty and commodity chemical, covering the Asia Pacific region.
