He has 15 years’ experience covering the international phosphates and other fertilizer markets for a variety of UK-based price reporting agencies. He has also covered international energy and petrochemical markets and previously edited a number of manufacturing and engineering titles in the UK. Mike is an experienced speaker, presenting papers at various international industry events including AFA Cairo in 2011 and 2014 and GPCA in Dubai and Oman, TSI World Symposium, the FAI conference in Delhi as well as at many Argus events around the world and at numerous investor events and conferences. Mike is based in London. He is a graduate of Reading University with a BSc Hons degree in geography and economics and postgraduate studies in marketing.

This has mainly involved organising the two conferences that the Society runs each year, boosting awareness of the Society’s unique archive of over 830 technical papers on fertilisers and crop nutrition, and growing Society membership. Sustainable agriculture has always been the focus of Stefano Tagliavini's work. After graduating in “Agricultural sciences” at Bologna University in 1992, He worked on plant physiology issues to improve plant production results. Since 2008, he is in charge of fertilizer development and communication at S.C.A.M. SpA (Società Costruttrice Albatros Modena) Established in the early 50s, S.C.A.M. is a private Italian company located in the North of Italy. The company's core business is focused on a unique high-performing family of organo-mineral fertilizers (OMF) in granular form for the soil application or liquid for fertigation and foliar application. S.C.A.M. is attentive to environmental issues and is proud to have obtained the premium award and certification of EPD (environment product declaration), among many product and production certifications.
