Hanane Mourchid is the Executive Director Sustainability & Green Industrial Development at OCP Group, the Moroccan phosphate and fertilizer world leader. Her role is particularly to balance the company’s mission to support farmers feed the world, while delivering on the group’s commitments to Sustainability. A key part of the ESG effort has been to accelerate OCP’s progress on ESG components, diversity and social inclusion. With multiple degrees and certificates in engineering and business from world leading universities, Hanane brings an engineer’s approach to her role. Mr. Jacob Hansen took over as the Director General of Fertilizers Europe in 2011. Prior to that he worked for the Danish Agriculture and Food Council in Copenhagen and then as Director of their office in Brussels. From a farming background and having studied Political Science at the University of Aarhus in Denmark (MA 1989), he understands first-hand the importance of fertilizers to society and the need to communicate this. Having worked and been actively involved in a range of committees, platforms and task forces for over 20 years, Mr. Hansen has developed an extensive network within the agri-industrial sectors in Brussels. He has been a board member of the European Fertilizers Association since 2020 and chairman of its Production, Safety and Environment Committee. Paloma Perez is the Secretary General of the Spanish National Association of Fertilizers Manufacturers (ANFFE). ANFFE represents the interests of the fertilizers producers with industrial and economic activity in Spain. She has a Degree in Chemistry and a Master of Science in Geochemistry from the University of Madrid. She has been working in the Ministry of Industry for 15 years, promoting the development of the Spanish Chemical Industry. She has participated in the elaboration of the Spanish fertilizers legislation and in the discussions of the European fertilizers Regulation in the Commission Working Group of Fertilizers. Afterwards, she worked in the Ministry of Science and Innovation, as Head of Unit of International Cooperation, R&D and Technology Transfer, promoting the participation of the companies and the technology centers in the EU Research Framework Program (currently Horizon 2020). Steve Hallam took a degree in agriculture, and then worked in sales and marketing in the animal feed industry for several years. Having gained an MBA, he then worked for Fisons Horticulture in the UK, focusing on the development of new products, and rising to Head of Consumer Marketing. In 1995 he left to become a self employed market researcher and planner, carrying out work for around 100 organisations, covering many business and public sectors. In 2014 he took on the part time (in theory) role as Secretary of the International Fertiliser Society.
