Michael’s career spans over 40 years in the marine transportation industry including sailing as crew and master delivering supplies, equipment, and fuel throughout coastal Alaska; and more recently senior management positions with P&L responsibilities. Prior to Centerline Michael lived in Anchorage and served as a VP of a fuel distribution company which operated 9 fuel terminals throughout Alaska utilizing a fleet of trucks and barges to supply coastal towns and communities throughout the state. Prior to that he was the head of the Pacific Division for what is now Kirby Offshore in Seattle. At that time Kirby operated the largest fleet of tank barges on the west coast. Earlier in his career he accepted the General Manager position for a transportation company headquartered in Saipan - CNMI. Once he realized that the tropics are better suited for holidays than for occupations, a relocation back to the PNW brought more adventure, including salvage operations, and the opportunity to join a rapidly growing company which also become the largest petroleum barge operator on the west coast.
