Magnus became president of Yara’s newly established clean ammonia unit in February, having previously served as president of Yara North America, where he was responsible for the company’s sales, supply chain and production activities in the region, including its ammonia plants in Freeport and Trinidad. Before this, Magnus was chief financial officer of Yara’s Industrial business and director of corporate strategy. He joined Yara after five years at Boston Consulting Group, before which he served in the Royal Norwegian Navy. Magnus holds a BSc in nautical engineering and an MBA from the Norwegian School of Economics.

Shigeru Muraki has been Representative Director at the Clean Fuel Ammonia Association (formerly Green Ammonia Consortium) since July 2019 and had been an Executive Advisor to Tokyo Gas since 2015. Shigeru joined Tokyo Gas in 1972 after graduating from the applied chemistry department of the University of Tokyo. He was appointed Chief Representative in New York from 1989 to 1994. In 1996-2004, He worked for the gas resources department. He was promoted to Chief Technology Officer in 2004. In 2007, he moved to the energy solution division where he oversaw commercial and industrial marketing and power businesses. He was appointed Executive Vice-President in 2010 and Vice-Chairman in 2014. Shigeru Muraki was also appointed the Regional Vice-Chair of Asia-Pacific and South Asia of the World Energy Council in May 2016 and was Program Director of Energy Carriers for SIP (Cross-ministerial Strategic Innovation Promotion Program) from June 2014 to March 2019. He was awarded the Medal of Honor with Blue Ribbon in May 2017.

RB joined the World Bank Group in 2012 after a long career in the chemicals industry in R&D, technology development, technology marketing, licensing and technology transfer, business and market development, IP management and corporate strategy. As principal industry adviser to the global chemicals and fertilizers investment portfolio of IFC, he guides the investment teams and decision-making committees throughout the lifecycle of IFC’s investment, including business development, due diligence, project execution and portfolio supervision. RB leads the IFC’s efforts in helping shape the transformation of the chemicals industry to reduce its environmental footprint while sustainably producing the critical chemicals needed for everyday life. His areas of focus include: green ammonia for fertilizers; bio-derived and bio-degradable chemicals; flared gas reduction; pathways to meeting industry’s energy needs with on-demand renewable energy; and carbon capture and utilisation solutions. He holds a PhD in Polymer Science from the University of Akron, Ohio, an MSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Connecticut, and a BTech in Chemical Engineering from the University of Madras, India. He has published his research in several scientific journals and presented at various academic and industry conferences; he also holds many patents for his work on specialty polymer films.

Prior to joining Argus, Neil worked as an energy economist for a leading Singaporean energy policy institute and has led several consulting projects for the government of Singapore and multilateral agencies such as the International Energy Agency (IEA), ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) and the Institute for Energy Economics, Japan (IEEJ). Neil holds a doctoral degree in Energy Economics, a Masters in Energy Economics and Policy and an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering.

He has authored several publications on the topic of transition to zero-emissions vessels and advises industry on decarbonisation strategy. Carlos has a PhD from the University College London on the potential of hydrogen as a fuel for shipping. His research is among the first to suggest the use of hydrogen to decarbonise the shipping industry.

Jonty studied economics at the University of Cambridge. He spent his first four years with the Argus Consulting Services team in London, covering the European market. During his time in London, he worked predominantly on both short and long term crude and refined products forecasting. In 2018, Jonty joined the Singapore consulting, focusing on the delivery of single client projects related to downstream petroleum, biofuels and marine fuels. This has involved the delivery of a number of bespoke projects requiring in depth analysis of the outlook for alternative marine fuels.
