Berit is Head of Decarbonization Business Development at Maersk and is working on projects to decarbonise shipping with a focus on future marine fuels. Berit has also worked as a research scientist in materials science at Princeton University. He was a special advisor to the chairman and president of Japanese upstream firm Japex from 2014 to 2020. Ajay holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Walchand College of Engineering in India, an MBA from Manchester Business School, and he has taken part in the advanced management programme at Harvard Business School.

Previous roles have included director of business development at Dubai Maritime City, senior vice-president of research and strategic planning at DVB Bank in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and logistics and LNG supply consultant with Emirates LNG in Abu Dhabi. Jonathan previously led CATF’s Bioenergy Program, which seeks to redirect the production and use of biofuels and biomass-based power so that they contribute to — rather than undermine — decarbonisation and climate stability, and he co-ordinated CATF’s effort to accelerate the deployment of climate-friendly energy technologies by facilitating partnerships between cutting-edge energy companies and institutions in China and the US. Valter has dedicated his career to EU climate policy and sustainable development, focusing on the maritime sector. Valter holds a double-degree master in European governance from the University of Utrecht, the Netherlands, and Konstanz University, Germany. Valter wrote his thesis on how European business associations gain access to EU institutions in order to influence climate policy negotiations.

Maria is part of the Danish delegation to the International Maritime Organisation, and she has followed the international greenhouse gas negotiations for years. Christopher coordinates several funding programmes for alternative fuels and energy conversion systems in maritime applications. After working in strategy development for DB Schenker he worked as project manager for several R&D projects in shipbuilding and the shipping industry, with a focus on offshore wind and maritime energy systems at Berlin Institute of Technology between 2011 and 2016. Between 2017 and 2021 he was Programme Manager for the mobility and fuels strategy of the German government and Project Manager for Gas-Fuelled Ships at NOW. Since 2021 Christopher has represented cross-technology maritime affairs and funding programmes at NOW as Head of Maritime Applications. He holds a master’s degree in industrial engineering, as well as a PhD in naval architecture and ocean engineering.

Toni Stojcevski is a professional within the area of marine engineering and business development. He has been working in various positions in Wärtsilä for 22 years and has gained broad experience in the marine industry, especially within the field of medium-speed combustion engines and alternative fuels. In 2013 Toni graduated with an Executive MBA from the University of Gothenburg. In 2014-16 Toni was responsible for the “Methanol development project” comprising new product development, application and its market strategy, and the delivery and conversion of the four main engines onboard Stena Germanica, which was the first ship in the world operating on methanol as a fuel and a starting point for change in the marine industry. Toni is currently General Manager Large Projects and is accountable for business development with a focus on large projects in the marine industry in northern Europe.
