Anup is focused on achieving a more sustainable energy and transportation system. At the ICCT, his work is aimed at reducing pollution and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from passenger vehicles globally. Previously, Anup was a postdoctoral fellow at the Sloan Automotive Laboratory at the Massachusetts Institute of technology (MIT), where he evaluated vehicle and fuel technologies that can significantly reduce GHG emissions and petroleum consumption from the US’ light-duty fleet over the next 30 years. At the start of his career, Girish was involved in developing and launching engine management system for Indian original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). He then joined Siemens Information Systems, where he set up a design team to support European OEMs. He is a board member for SAE India, where he is involved in steering powertrain-related technologies, such as hybridisation and electrification. He joined Maruti Suzuki India in 1983 and spearheaded research and development activities before becoming Senior Managing Executive Officer of engineering until 2012 and Executive Advisor from 2012-19. Before this she joined the National Automotive Testing and R&D Infrastructure Project (NATRiP) in 2006, where she was involved in the planning and procurement of facilities for testing and research and development for NATRiP centres. She started her career with Rico Auto Industries and later joined Honda Siel Cars India. She joined the Society of Automobile Manufactures in 1999 and looked after various technical and policy issues related to the automotive sector in India. Sachin has 16 years’ experience in automobile design and development and currently leads powertrain engineering for Volvo Eicher, integrating and matching powertrains with various vehicle platforms.
