Andrea Valentini leads Argus’ consulting services on low and zero-carbon ammonia. He has a background in fertilizers and chemicals, and prior to joining Argus he was the head of consulting for Integer Research. He led consulting work on a number of projects, including feasibility studies for fertilizer projects worldwide, specialty chemicals marketability research, as well as research on soil carbon and related carbon markets. He is a graduate in Economics from the University of Padua in Italy and holds an MBA from McGill University, Canada.

Charles is a Vice President in Argus Media’s Projects Consulting practice and is based in London. With more than 15 years’ experience in the industry, he leads engagements across the energy industry, specialising in providing market studies and feasibility analysis for Argus clients within both the fossil and renewable supply chains. Recent projects have analysed investments in cellulosic ethanol, biomethanol, SAF, HVO, biomethane and e-fuels; analysis covers feedstock availability and costs, legislation, supply/demand outlooks, and price forecasts.

Chuck Venezia is Senior Vice-President, Global Petrochemicals, based in Houston. He is responsible for driving Argus’ global petrochemicals strategy and oversees petrochemical business development. Chuck has more than 30 years of experience in the petrochemical industry. He served as Area Manager, Latin America for Chevron Chemical Company, where he managed the company’s polymer export sales and other chemical sales to Mexico and South America. He then worked for CheMatch as Executive Director, Latin America, focusing on the online trading platform for bulk petrochemicals. Chuck joined DeWitt in 2002 as a Principal. DeWitt was acquired by Argus in 2012. Chuck holds an MBA and MA from Tulane University and a BA from Union College.

Frances Wollmer is Principal Consultant for fertilizers in Argus’ London office with a primary responsibility for nitrogen projects. Frances has spent the last 25 years as a consultant in the N, P, K and S fertilizer/fertilizer raw material sector. For much of this period she has been responsible for long-range forecasting, strategy and project feasibility studies. Having focused on ammonia for many years, today Frances contributes to Argus bespoke consulting within the emerging low-carbon (green/blue) ammonia market sphere. Frances is a regular speaker at industry conferences and has developed contacts with senior executives in all aspects of the nitrogen products value chain.

Hasan oversees and leads the fertilizer consulting services for the Americas region, with a focus on single-client studies and product valuations. Before joining Argus, Hasan worked for Canpotex, BHP and Accenture where he led supply modeling to develop a global view of potash supply, developed views on competitors’ strategies, modeled price impact of various market entry approaches, and developed acquisition option sets, term sheets for commercial negotiations, and desktop valuations.

Joe has over 25 years in the industry and joined Argus in 2009 following a long experience within the European olefins market. He has worked for ICI, Huntsman and SABIC where he was responsible for the Business Management of SABIC’s Olefins business in Europe. In his time at Argus, Joe worked on a number of consultancy projects covering the structure of the European Olefins markets, investment opportunities in the Middle East and the potential for ethane imports to Europe. Joe is also responsible for the provision of regular client services for Ethylene and Polymers along with the monthly Olefins outlook forecast.

Prior to joining Argus, Josefine spent nine years with Shell Downstream in the strategy, marketing and sales departments. She has master’s degrees in economics and political science from Lund University, Sweden, and is now Vice-President for Argus Business Development in Europe. Josefine has deep expertise in the fuels markets and is responsible for Argus pricing solutions for European refined products. She has particular focus on the biofuels markets and with her 10 years at Argus been instrumental for Argus benchmark position in the renewable fuels markets.

Leela Landress, the Global Editor Oleochemicals & Pine Chemicals for Argus Media, has worked for the last 20 years for some of the most well-respected media companies in the U.S. and Europe. Leela co-founded and was Editorial Director of Oleochem Analytics which was the only market intelligence agency solely focused on renewable chemicals on the globe. The agency was acquired by Argus Media in August 2021. The service continues to be at the forefront of emerging markets.

Louise Burke is currently leading the development of North American Biofuels and Global Aviation business for Argus Media. She has worked closely on a global level in providing key support on value integration in the supply chain works across all regional teams in Asia, Europe and the Americas to support the needs of the market. Ms. Burke began her professional career in the energy industry working for major oil corporations in Canada and the US where she performed both short and long-term analyses of energy prices and market trends. Following this, she worked in the financial energy futures and options industry as Vice-President for the New York Mercantile Exchange (now CME group) during its rapid growth in the 1990s. She currently serves as President of the Board of Directors of The Energy Forum, a non-profit organization designed to increase understanding of energy issues and is also affiliated with the SIPA energy program at Columbia University, New York as an instructor in the area of petroleum markets trading.

Dr Neil D’Souza is a principal consultant based in our Singapore office. He heads Argus’ energy transition practice in Asia Pacific and the Middle East, having lead policy studies on the hydrogen economy, low carbon vehicles and renewables. He is also responsible for Argus’ generation fuels practice where he has provided clients in the private sector with feasibility studies and fuel procurement risk assessments and policymakers with regulatory advisories. Prior to joining Argus, Neil worked as an energy economist for an energy policy institute in Singapore and has led several consulting projects for multilateral agencies, such as Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC). He has also worked as a power plant engineer at a multifuel fired facility. Neil D’Souza holds a doctoral degree in energy economics, a masters in energy economics and policy and an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering.

His role involves the management of a global team of more than 400 reporters in 23 offices, formulation of editorial and market-reporting strategy and policy, and working in matrix with Argus’ sectoral and regional managers to help develop new content and products for the business. Neil joined Argus in January 2020. He has 35 years’ experience of commodities and energy markets, and has worked as a journalist, analyst, manager, consultant, and data architect. He is the former SVP Editorial and Information of Argus’ competitor S&P Platts, and has also served as Head of Content and latterly Strategic Advisor at energy and petrochemicals price-reporting agency ICIS. He is the 1995 winner of the International Association of Energy Economists’ award for Excellence in Written Journalism. Neil was previously Southern Africa bureau chief for US news agency United Press International at the time of the end of apartheid, and before that its East Africa correspondent. He holds a first class honours degree in Modern & Medieval Languages from Trinity College Cambridge, and was a post-graduate student at the University of Vienna.

Having joined the team in 2012, he oversees the delivery of bespoke studies in the bioenergy and renewable fuel sector, including biofuels, biomass and e-fuels. Tom’s work involves assessment of the European legislative environment and the impact of proposed changes considering the trends seen in the vehicle parc, production technology and wider energy markets. While the focus remains on road transport, he also provides analysis of alternative markets, such as the aviation and marine sectors.

Tzyy leads bespoke chemicals consulting for Europe and Africa at Argus, and is responsible for consulting projects including market studies, feasibility studies and transaction support engagements across all petrochemical value chains. He specialises in providing commercial and market due diligence and analysis in the petrochemicals sector, supporting clients in evaluating investments, market entry strategy and other market-related issues. He is experienced across a wide range of commodity and specialty petrochemicals, including the olefins, aromatics, methanol and chlor-alkali value chains and their downstream derivatives.

Yu Kin started his career in 1990 with KBC Advanced Technology, a technical consulting company for the refining industry, before moving to market consulting with Purvin & Gertz in 2003. During his stay with Purvin & Gertz he was responsible for numerous studies in the oil and gas sectors and other energy related businesses, including mergers and acquisitions, strategic analysis, technical assessments, asset valuations, crude valuations and market assessments. Yu Kin joined Argus in 2014. He trained as a chemical engineer at the National University of Singapore and is recognised as a chartered engineer by the Institution of Chemical Engineers.

She has responsibility for Argus’ North American coverage of environmental commodities, including emissions markets and biofuels, with specific expertise on California environmental regulation. She has also edited Argus’ European Emissions Market report and Biomass Markets report at the company’s London headquarters. Jessica holds a master’s degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science and an undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley.

Yu Kin is a Vice-President in the Singapore office, responsible for the delivery of all Asian consulting projects. Yu Kin joined Argus from IHS Purvin & Gertz where he was a managing consultant. In a career spanning 24 years in various consulting roles in Singapore, Greece and the US, Yu Kin has covered oil, gas, coal and petrochemical markets. During his time at KBC Advanced Technology, he successfully built up a strategic consulting practice in Asia from scratch. Yu Kin trained as a chemical engineer at the National University of Singapore. He is recognised as a chartered engineer by the Institute of Chemical Engineers.

Alfonso is responsible for positioning Argus prices on Middle distillates, SAF and Bitumen in Europe. Prior to joining Argus in June 2019, he worked as Oil Products Trader during 9 years at Optima Energy in Geneva and GP Global in London covering Europe, North and West Africa.  Alfonso started his career in the oil industry back in 2001 running cargo operations and import logistics for the Spanish utility Endesa (currently Enel) for 5 years, and Chevron UK for 3 years. Alfonso is an Industrial Engineer graduated in the Universidad del Pais Vasco (UPV), Spain.
