Mr. Atsushi Suzuki, the CEO of Marubeni Middle East and Africa Power Limited, is responsible for the development and asset management of power projects in the Middle East and Africa region. He is also leading the development of green hydrogen and its derivative production projects in this region with the aim to supply clean energies from the region to the international market and contribute to the decarbonization of various industries as well as the growth of local economies. As the business diversifies, he also covers new business including energy efficiency business and other infrastructure businesses. Since he joined Marubeni Corporation in 2004, he has successfully developed various mega scale IPP projects in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Qatar. In the middle, he also acted as the Finance and Commercial Manager in Mesaieed Power Company in Qatar as a secondee from Marubeni from 2007 to 2011 to implement the project. Latest responsibility before becoming CEO of Marubeni Middle East and Africa Power Limited, he was a General Manger of renewable businesses in the region and created a portfolio in the region that include first utility PV project in the country in Abu Dhabi, Oman and Qatar. Mr. Suzuki holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics at Keio University.

Frank has been leading renewable energy projects, transactions and technology development for more than 30 years, and played a lead role in the development of renewable energy projects valued at over $5bn in total. He served as Deputy Director-General of the International Renewable Energy Agency from 2012 to 2014. Frank has served on the board of energy companies in Europe, Asia, the US and Africa, and along with his EU-GCC and MENA Hydrogen Alliance roles, he is currently Senior Vice-President of Energy Transition at Reliance Industries, a Fellow at Payne Institute, Colorado School of Mines, Chairman of the MENA Hydrogen Alliance, Chairman of the Dii Advisory Board, Non-Executive Board Director of Gore Street Capital, and Non-Executive Board Director of Vast Solar. Frank has written several books on renewable energy and green hydrogen. He has a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Delft University in the Netherlands.

She recently joined as Vice President - Engineering and Technical Project Management ENGIE Asia-Middle-East-Africa (AMEA) office to mainly support hydrogen project developments in the area. She was previously Hydrogen lab team leader at ENGIE Lab CRIGEN supervising her collaborators’ research activities all along the hydrogen chain and coordinating hydrogen and power-to-X R&D developments. She participated in 12+ European collaborative projects. Secil Torun is a mechanical engineer graduated from Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Techniques Avancées de Paris (France). She holds a master in industrial organizations from Paris-Dauphine University.

Ashwani has nearly 30 years of marketing and business development experience in the energy sector and has worked across Asia and Europe in various functional and leadership roles. He has contributed to the development of gas and power markets, enabling policies and regulatory frameworks by leveraging his rich global experience. He is currently leading the green hydrogen and ammonia business for ACME Group as president and director based out of Dubai. Prior to joining ACME, Ashwani was heading the global LNG marketing business for ADNOC, the national oil company of UAE. Previously, Ashwani worked for 20 years with Shell (and BG Group) and his last role was as the country head for Shell Energy India, responsible for the gas, LNG and power businesses of Shell in India. He also worked with Reliance Industries and Thermax before joining Shell. Ashwani holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Delhi Technological University, and a post graduate diploma in business management from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai.
