Midstream operator Oneok Partners has completed an expansion to its Bakken NGL pipeline, as well as an associated lateral pipeline, and completed its Garden Creek III natural gas processing facility in North Dakota.
The pipeline expansion will increase total capacity on the system by 75,000 b/d to 135,000 b/d. The 600-mile pipeline transports unfractionated NGLs from the Williston basin to the Overland Pass pipeline, which extends from southern Wyoming to the fractionation and storage hub at Conway, Kansas.
Oneok has a 50pc stake in the Overland Pass pipeline.
The partnership also completed its Niobrara NGL lateral, which connects its Sage Creek gas processing plan in Wyoming to the Bakken NGL line.
Separately, the midstream operator has completed its Garden Creek III processing facility in North Dakota. That project was originally slated for completion in the first quarter of 2015.
The startup of the 100mn ft³/d plant will bring Oneok's total gas processing capacity in the Williston basin to 600mn ft³/d (16.98m³/d).
Garden Creek III will be expandable to 120mn ft³/d by the fourth-quarter of 2015.
Going forward, Oneok expects its total natural gas processing capacity in the Williston Basin to expand to 1.2bn ft³/d by 2016.
