Ugona Betty Amechi (Mrs) is the Executive Director Storage, Nigerian Pipelines and Storage Company (NPSC) a subsidiary of NNPC and also the Co-Founder/Coordinator of Gas to Health Initiative (GTHI), a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) on LP Gas usage awareness creation. She champions the current GTHI project ‘Operation Convert Mamaput/Local Food Vendors’ from the use of firewood for cooking. Through this project, over 5,000 people have been empowered and switched over to the use of LP Gas which is cleaner and healthier. She has authored several books, among which is a book on LPG: ‘Who Cooks it Feels the Brunt, the Environment Feels the Heat”.
