He has worked at the Reliance Group for around 24 years and gained experience in various roles at the company. He started his career as a Technical Officer, and was later instrumental in setting up the Product Application and Research Centre at RIL. He eventually moved to sales and marketing, where he worked in various capacities as a Resident Sales Executive, Product Lead for polyolefins — both polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) — at regional offices and as product lead for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) at head office before taking on greater responsibilities as Regional Manager for South India and then as head of the Western Region, which is the biggest consumption centre in India. Prior to joining Argus, George worked at IHS in the Chlor-Alkali and Vinyls group where he supported the weekly chlor-alkali publication and the monthly and annual products. He began his professional career at Union Carbide as a process/project engineer supporting a number of plants, including ethylene oxide, oxide derivatives, olefins, acrolein, acrylic acid and infrastructure. When Dow Chemical acquired Union Carbide, he directed projects for polypropylene plants at Seadrift and Freeport, Texas. George has an MBA from Rice University and a BSc in chemical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
