Indonesian Coal Indexes (ICI)
The five prices of the ICI coal price assessments are weekly assessments by Argus and Coalindo Energy for the main Indonesian thermal coal grades sold on a fob Indonesia basis. These price assessments provide price transparency for a variety of grades across Indonesia.
Advantages of the ICI price assessments
The ICI coal price assessments underpin much of Indonesia’s coal market and are used as the reference prices for Indonesian royalty and official payment calculations. These price assessments are also used in market analysis, production planning and corporate finance, among other functions.

The region’s coal markets use the ICI price assessments for official payments, risk management and sales agreements for coal from Indonesia. With five grades of coal included in the ICI service, users receive the most widely recognised benchmark for Indonesian coal available anywhere.
