<article><p class="lead">A fire at Iran's Kharg Petrochemical plant yesterday killed one person and injured three others, although the plant is operating normally and the methanol unit is fully operational.</p><p>The fire, which was extinguished within 15 minutes, broke out when hydrocarbons from the plant's LPG unit were being removed. The unit had shut for full maintenance the previous day.</p><p>The managing director of Kharg Petrochemical, Gholamreza Amirshaghaghi, confirmed the normal operations at the plant without elaborating on the scale of the damage at the LPG unit or its expected start-up date.</p><p>The company had issued a tender to sell 44,000t of mixed LPG in September and 10,000t of mixed LPG in October and November respectively. </p><p class="bylines">By Reza Amanat</p></article>
