INI: A new suite of Indonesian nickel benchmarks
Argus started publishing the INI (Indonesian Nickel Index) — a suite of nickel prices in partnership with PT Indeks Komoditas Indonesia (PT IKI).
These new Indonesian export prices solve a number of dilemmas that have divided the nickel market in recent years — rising volumes and market share of Class II nickel; growing demand from the electric vehicle battery industry; and the eastward shift in nickel production and consumption hubs.
