Ambassador Jon Huntsman, Jr.

Ambassador Huntsman began his career in public service as a staff assistant to President Ronald Reagan. He has served each of the five U.S. presidents since then in critical roles around the world, including as the Ambassador to Singapore, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Asia, U.S. Trade Ambassador, U.S. Ambassador to China, and most recently, U.S. Ambassador to Russia. In all Senate confirmations, he received unanimous votes. Twice elected governor of Utah, Governor Huntsman brought about strong economic and tax reforms, tripled the state’s rainy-day fund, and helped bring unemployment rates to historic lows. Historically Huntsman was one of Utah’s most popular governors, reaching approval ratings as high as 90 percent. During his tenure, Utah was named the best managed state in America and ranked number one in the nation in job growth. Recognized by others for his service, Governor Huntsman was elected as Chairman of the Western Governors Association, serving nineteen states throughout the region. Ambassador Huntsman was a candidate for the Presidency in 2012 where he ultimately placed third in the New Hampshire primary before bowing out. Previously he served as Chairman of the Atlantic Council and on the boards of Ford Motor Company, Caterpillar Corporation, Chevron Corporation, Hilton, the U.S. Naval Academy Foundation, and the University of Pennsylvania. In addition, he served as a distinguished fellow at the Brookings Institute, a trustee of the Reagan Presidential Foundation, and Chairman of the Huntsman Cancer Foundation. Ambassador Huntsman has served as a visiting fellow at Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, as well as a distinguished lecturer at Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy. He was recently inducted into the American Academy of Diplomacy. Huntsman is a seventh generation Utahn and has been married for 36 years to Mary Kaye Huntsman. Together they are the parents of seven children, including two adopted daughters from China and India. His two sons, both graduates of the U.S. Naval Academy, are active duty naval officers. Huntsman is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and has ten honorary doctoral degrees.

Kelcy L. Warren

Executive Chairman, Energy Transfer

Kelcy Warren has been a leader in the energy industry for more than 40 years. A native Texan, Warren was born and raised in White Oak, and is a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington where he earned a degree in civil engineering. Warren co-founded Dallas-based Energy Transfer in 1996 as a small intrastate natural gas pipeline operator with about 200 miles of pipe and 20 employees. Today, Warren serves as Executive Chairman of one of the country’s largest and most diversified portfolio of publicly traded energy partnerships, which includes Energy Transfer LP, Sunoco LP and USA Compression LP. Energy Transfer also owns Sun Oil, where Warren’s father worked for decades. Energy Transfer’s strategically positioned assets across the U.S. include more than 125,000 miles of pipelines traversing 44 states. Energy Transfer also has international offices in Beijing and Panama. Core business operations include the gathering, treating, processing, transporting, and exporting of natural gas, natural gas liquids, refined products, and crude oil. Energy Transfer also owns some of the largest terminalling and storage facilities along the Gulf Coast and the Eastern Seaboard, including the world’s 2nd largest natural gas liquids export facility located in Nederland, Texas. Warren has been recognized by many energy and business organizations including the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans. In 2023, he received the Legacy Award from D CEO, the Distinguished Service Award from the Texas Oil & Gas Association and was honored as one of Hart Energy’s inaugural Hall of Fame recipients. He is also a Laureate in the Dallas Business Hall of Fame, a member of the Texas Business Hall of Fame, and the Ammys Hall of Fame. Warren is a dedicated philanthropist supporting educational institutions from grade school through university levels, medical institutions and children’s organizations including the University of Texas at Arlington, the MD Anderson Pediatric Cancer Research Center, the March of Dimes, and the Bush Foundation. Warren also serves on the Kennedy Center Board of Trustees, and the Woodall Rodgers Park Foundation. He was appointed by Governor Greg Abbott to serve on the University of Texas System Board of Regents through 2025.

David Garza

Managing Director, Gunvor

Mr. Garza has over 30 years of experience in the energy sector. He has served as Managing Director for Gunvor USA since the company’s inception in 2017, helping to lead the organization from start-up to now more than 150 employees in three locations (Houston, Stamford, Calgary, Canada). Mr. Garza joined Gunvor from Tesoro Refining & Marketing, where he was Vice President of Crude Oil & Feedstocks Strategy and Trading from 2014-2017. Previously, Mr. Garza spent more than 20 years in various financial and trading positions at BP, most recently as Crude Oil Supply & Trading Manager at BP-IST Oil Americas from 2006-2014. He began his career Amoco Chemicals before it became BP Amoco Chemicals. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame, Mendoza College of Business, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, College of Engineering.

Will Monteleone

Will Monteleone has served as the President of Par Pacific Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: PARR) since January 2023. Par Pacific had 2022 revenues of $7.2 billion, Adjusted EBITDA of $643 million and approximately 1,400 employees. Previously Will served as Par Pacific’s Chief Financial Officer from 2017 to January 2023, Senior Vice President of Mergers & Acquisitions from 2015 to 2017 and as Chief Executive Officer from 2013 until 2015. In addition, he has served on the Par Pacific Board of Directors since the company’s 2012 formation. Prior to joining Par Pacific, Will was a Vice President of Equity Group Investments (“EGI”), the Chicago-based private investment firm founded and led by Sam Zell, where he had been employed in various capacities from 2008 to 2013. Prior to joining EGI, Will worked for Banc of America Securities LLC from 2006 to 2008. In addition, Will serves as the President of New Hotel Monteleone, LLC and Monteleone Management, LLC. The New Orleans-based organization owns and operates the Hotel Monteleone and the Bienville House hotels. That organization has approximately $45 million in revenues and 300 employees. From its founding in 1886, the Hotel Monteleone remains one of the last family-owned and independently operated hotel properties in the United States. Will grew up in Houston, graduating from Kinkaid in 2002. Will matriculated to Vanderbilt and graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in 2006. He is married to Jennifer Monteleone, and they have 3 children: William (8), Addie (7) and James (3) with William and Addie currently attending River Oaks Baptist School.

Wendy Kirchoff

Vice President, Policy and Regulatory Affairs, American Exploration and Production Council (AXPC)

Wendy Kirchoff leads AXPC’s environmental, health, safety, and regulatory efforts to collaborate among industry and government partners on driving solutions to our nation’s most pressing environmental and sustainability concerns. Ms. Kirchoff joined AXPC in 2021 from Chevron Corporation, after a 2020 merger with Noble Energy, a U.S. independent oil and natural gas company where she had worked for nearly a decade. Ms. Kirchoff served on Noble’s EHSR Leadership Team and was responsible for identifying changing public policies related to state and federal environmental and safety regulations and advocating on the company’s behalf. She directly supported business in Texas, Gulf of Mexico, Midstream, Marcellus, and Colorado, as well as exploration projects in Wyoming and Colombia. She also engaged with state and federal agencies and held key industry leadership roles in trade associations and industry organizations. She began her policy career working for the U.S. House of Representatives, most recently as Legislative Director for Congressman Dan Boren (D-OK) and directed federal and legislative affairs at the Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA). Ms. Kirchoff sits on the board of the Groundwater Research and Education Foundation with GWPC and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Science at Texas A&M University.

Suresh Vaidyanathan

Vice President of Renewable Fuels, Phillips 66

Suresh Vaidyanathan is vice president, Renewable Fuels, for Phillips 66. A chemical engineer, Suresh has more than 27 years of global experience in the oil and gas industry. Prior to assuming his current role, he served as chief engineer & general manager, Refining Business Improvement. Previously, he served in a variety of positions for the company, including operations manager at Sweeny Refinery, refining technical services manager for Refining Business Improvement, West Coast strategy manager for Refining, technical manager at Trainer Refinery and optimization manager at Ponca City Refinery. He started his career at HPCL Refinery, India in 1991 (formerly Exxon-Caltex Refining), and later worked in the Fractionation industry with Koch Industries and Sulzer Chemtech in India, Europe and the U.S. Suresh holds a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology and an MBA from Southern Methodist University.

Colin Parfitt

Colin E. Parfitt is vice president of Midstream, a position he has held since 2019. He is responsible for the company’s shipping, pipeline, power, value chain optimization, and supply and trading operating units. Previously Parfitt was president of Supply and Trading where he was responsible for Chevron’s global trading activities for crude oil, feedstocks, refined products, natural gas and gas liquids to support the company’s crude and gas production operations and refining and marketing network. Prior to that role Parfitt was vice president, Sales & Marketing, for Chevron Oronite Company LLC. He has also served as vice president of Americas Products, vice president of Finished Lubricants and president of Fuel and Marine Marketing. Parfitt joined Chevron in 1995 as manager, Crude Oil Trading, with Chevron International Oil Company based in London. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Exeter in England and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Henley Management College in England.

Bevin Wirzba

Executive Vice-President and Group President, Liquids Pipelines and Coastal GasLink (CGL), TC Energy

Bevin Wirzba is Executive Vice-President and Group President, Liquids Pipelines and Coastal GasLink (CGL). In his role, Mr. Wirzba is responsible for overseeing the company’s liquids transportation business and will lead the new Liquids Pipelines Company as the President and CEO. Mr. Wirzba is also President of Coastal GasLink, where he oversees the development and execution of the 670-km pipeline planned to deliver natural gas from Northeastern BC to Kitimat for LNG export. Before joining TC Energy in 2019, Mr. Wirzba was a senior executive leading the commercial functions of an intermediate upstream producer. He previously held the role of Managing Director in energy advisory for a global investment bank and began his career with a major integrated energy corporation with multi- disciplinary roles across North America and internationally. Mr. Wirzba holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Alberta, a Master of Business Administration from the Edinburgh Business School and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA). He also sits on the board of directors for STARS.

Adam Arthur

Executive Vice President, Crude Oil & Canada, Energy Transfer

Adam Arthur was recently named Executive Vice President for Energy Transfer in January 2021. In this role he has responsibility for all commercial functions within Energy Transfer’s crude oil organization including, gathering, business development and marketing & trading activities. Prior to this, Mr. Arthur served as Senior Vice President of Business Development. He joined Energy Transfer in 2012 and has served in various capacities during his nine year tenure. He earned an MBA and a BS in Marketing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Mr. Arthur serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Energy Transfer Canada, a gathering and processing business that provides midstream solutions in Western Canada. He also serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Orbit Gulf Coast NGL Exports, LLC, which provides ethane supply from the Gulf Coast to China’s first 100% ethane to ethylene cracker. Mr. Arthur’s experience includes cross-commodity business development on both regulated and non-regulated assets.

Greig Sproule

Greig Sproule is the Vice President, Tolls & Tariffs with the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers. Greig is responsible for leading a team that advocates our members’ market access interests for the safe, reliable and cost-effective pipeline transportation for oil and gas throughout North America. Greig and his team actively participate in pipeline task forces, tolls negotiations, regulatory proceedings and other industry initiatives. Greig is also providing interim leadership to the Research and Data team within CAPP. Prior to joining CAPP Greig worked for nearly two decades in the gas pipeline industry with leadership positions in rates, service development, regulatory and collaborative processes, followed by two decades of providing energy regulatory consulting services for a variety of regulatory agency, utility and utility customer clients. During this period Greig was executive director of the Industrial Gas Consumers Association of Alberta for 8 years. Greig provided consulting services to CAPP for 18 months prior to accepting his current role on November 1, 2020. Greig has been a Director for several large not-for-profit organizations and holds a certificate from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Jerry Miller

Senior Vice President, Commercial, HF Sinclair

Jerry Miller has served as senior vice president, Commercial for HF Sinclair since March 2021. In this role, Mr. Miller oversees all commodity supply, trading, marketing and global logistics for HF Sinclair’s Refining and Marketing business, as well as HF Sinclair’s Asphalt company. Throughout his career, Mr. Miller has held a variety of leadership roles within the energy industry and in the U.S. Army. His expertise includes supply and trading, refinery management and emergency management. Mr. Miller has also held a number of roles within industry associations, including serving on the American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers Issues Committee, Ohio Petroleum Marketing and Convenience Association (OPMCA) Manufacturing group and the Ohio Oil and Gas Association. Prior to joining HF Sinclair, Mr. Miller held the role of senior vice president, Trading, Supply and Logistics for Husky Energy in North America. While at Husky Energy, he also served as refinery manager of the Lima, Ohio refinery and the Lloydminster Upgrading refinery in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. After a 21-year career in the United States Army, Mr. Miller retired as a Lieutenant-Colonel. During this time, he served with the U.S. Army Rangers and is a decorated combat veteran. Mr. Miller received a Master of Business Administration from the Pennsylvania State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Pittsburgh. Mr. Miller and his wife of more than thirty years, Amy, currently reside in the Dallas/Fort Worth suburb of Colleyville, Texas.

Rachel Williams, Sparta's Chief Commodities Officer, brings over 20 years of expertise from global research, multinational banks, and leading oil and exploration entities. Leading the commodities and analytics team at Sparta, Rachel drives the continued evolution and success of the platform. Rachel’s career began as a chemical engineer at ChevronTexaco, where she was involved in LP planning, supply & optimisation and trading analytics, later moving to roles at ConocoPhillips, Wood Mackenzie, Bank of America and Citi. At Wood Mackenzie, she evolved from Research Director, spearheading insights into downstream refining sectors and oil markets to VP, leading the Genscape oil and gas business. As VP Oil Commodities at Citi, Rachel advised both industry and financial clients, further showcasing her capability to deliver impactful insight into global crude and oil product markets.

David Fyfe

David has more than 30 years’ experience of working in energy markets. Prior to joining Argus, David was most recently chief economist at commodity trading company Gunvor. Before this, he managed the oil industry and markets division of the International Energy Agency and edited its influential monthly Oil Market Report. David has a master’s degree in energy policy and economics from Imperial College London.

Jamie Webster

Partner and Associate Director, BCG

Jamie is a Partner and Associate Director at BCG's Center for Energy Impact where he leads the Geopolitics & Resilience pillar as well as heading up market views on hydrocarbons. He joined BCG in 2016 as an expert in energy markets and geopolitics to include market issues in the time of the energy transition. This expertise extends to OPEC analysis and energy policy. He is a non-resident fellow at Columbia's Center on Global Energy Policy. The founder of BCG's Energy Economist Forum, a gathering of the top Chief economists of energy companies to discuss evolving issues of interest as well as improving the quality of the output and interaction of this function with the rest of the organization. Prior to joining BCG, Jamie worked at IHS as a Vice President where he led the oil markets capability with a geographically dispersed team of 20+. Before IHS, Jamie was a Director at PFC Energy, where he managed the company’s oil market analysis and long-term energy scenarios. Jamie is a frequent public speaker on energy issues and is regularly quoted and seen in the press. He has testified multiple times to both houses of the US Congress and is currently writing a book about the history of peak demand and what it means for the energy transitions ahead.

Hillary Stevenson

Gustavo Hooper is head of trading and shipping for Prio, the largest independent oil and gas production company in Brazil. He has more than 15 years’ experience in the sector, with international roles in multinational companies such as Shell, Raizen, Sinochem and PetroChina. Gustavo has a master’s degree from PUC-Rio and a BSc degree in economics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and Salamanca University in Spain. He is also a graduate of the Coppead Business School in Rio de Janeiro.

Mike Wittner

Mike Wittner is Global Head of Oil Market Research for Intercontinental Exchange. Mike joined ICE in 2019. Mike was ranked in the top 4 for oil market research in 2009-2019, according to Risk and Energy Risk magazines, including 7 consecutive years at #1 in 2013-2019. Before that, he held a similar position at Crédit Agricole, as well as senior analytical roles at Koch Supply & Trading, the International Energy Agency, and PIRA Energy Group (now part of S&P Global Platts). Before getting his MBA, Mike worked as a geologist and project manager for an engineering firm and as an analyst at the Central Intelligence Agency. Mike holds a BS in Geology from Cornell University and a MBA in International Business from George Washington University.

Paul Horsnell

Dr Paul Horsnell is the Global Head of Commodities Research for Standard Chartered Bank and is based in London. He joined Standard Chartered in 2013 and was previously Head of Commodities Research at Barclays, and Head of Energy Research at JPMorgan. Prior to becoming a financial analyst, he was a researcher at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies for 10 years, where he authored books on the Brent oil market (with Robert Mabro) and on Asian energy markets. Paul holds a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics and a Doctorate in Economics, both from Oxford University. He is a former Chairman of the British Institute of Energy Economics and a Praelector in Economics at Lincoln College, Oxford. Standard Chartered were awarded Commodities House of the Year 2020 by Energy Risk.

Jason Balasch

Jason Balasch currently serves as Senior, Director, Business Development for Trans Mountain pipeline where he oversees all commercial development and asset management activity. Jason has over 35 years of experience in the midstream energy sector in both Canada and the U.S.; including serving as the President of Plains Midstream Canada and holding several executive roles at Enterprise Products in Houston. He has served as a Director of the Canadian Energy Pipeline Association and been a contributor to several other volunteer and industry associations. Jason holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calgary and an MBA from the Edinburgh Business School.

Nicholas Watt

Freight Editorial Manager, Argus

Nicholas directs Argus’ coverage of ocean-going freight markets and leads the global editorial team that produces freight price assessments, market news, and analysis. Prior to joining Argus in 2015, Nicholas co-founded the Enerpo Journal, a publication run out of European University at St. Petersburg that focuses on global energy politics. He holds a master’s degree in international politics from European University at St. Petersburg and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and Russian studies from Lawrence University.

Matthew Oatway

Matthew Oatway is Head of North America for Argus, based in Houston. Matt joined Argus in London in 2018 as Chief of Staff. Since 2020, he has led Argus’ business in the United States and Canada. Prior to joining Argus, Matt worked in market analysis and corporate strategy roles at fundamental data provider Genscape and media company DMGT. Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Dartmouth College.

Vlasios Voudouris

Vlasios joined Argus from Standard Chartered Bank where he was the head of the quantitative modelling and analytics team. He has expertise in data science for commodity markets and uses insights from data to illuminate trading, hedging and risk management for crude markets. He is the co-author of two books — one on applied data science and one on energy markets. Vlasios holds a PhD from City, University of London.

Gus Vasquez

Gus Vasquez has been the Argus Americas Crude Editor since the beginning of 2008. Prior to that he was a member of Argus’ European crude team, based out of London, where he covered the North Sea, Mediterra¬nean, Russian and west African crude markets. Before joining Argus in 2006, he spent four years as a market analyst for Venezuela’s national oil company working out of their London office.

Vanessa Viola

Senior Vice-President, Latin America, Argus

Vanessa Viola is the Senior Vice-President of Latin America at Argus. She rejoined Argus in 2011 as our Brazil Country Manager and is now working to expand the company’s business across Latin America. Vanessa initially joined Argus in 2001, working as Deputy Editor of the Argus European Products report and Editor of the Argus International LPG report before leaving in 2005 to work as an LPG broker with Gibson in London. Prior to her assignments in the UK, Vanessa worked as a political and financial correspondent for Reuters (Brasilia, Sao Paulo), as a financial reporter for Brazil’s leading news agency Agencia Estado and as a press relations officer with energy engineering company Asea Brown Boveri, also based in Sao Paulo. A graduate from Brazil’s Casper Libero University with a BA in social communications, Vanessa has a master’s degree in international journalism from London’s City University. In addition to Portuguese and English, she is fluent in Spanish.
