Release highlights
This release introduces support for Possibility curves, support for environments where multiple users use the same file, and improves communication reliability and the local metadata cache update performance.
New features and improvements
- Possibility Curves: Added support for querying Possibility curves.
- Forward Curves: Added a 'Show metadata' option to Forward Curve queries.
- Prices: Extended fill forward and fill backward behaviour to the start/end dates of quote_pricetype.
- Prices: Improved Period sorting for continuous forward prices by treating the continuous forward value as numeric.
Reliability and compatibility
- Improved support for multi-user and multi-session environments.
- Reduced metadata refresh time. The add-in now downloads only changes made since the previous update instead of downloading the complete metadata tables when possible.
- Replaced SOAP communication with an HTTP Web API. This improves compatibility with modern network environments and may resolve connectivity issues with proxy configuration.
- Improved ClickOnce installation by making MSI package detection compatible with modern versions of Microsoft Windows.
- Updated the logging infrastructure to improve diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Added an experimental compatibility option for VBA integrations where the name 'ArgusDirect' is not recognised. This option requires the add-in configuration to be changed on the client machine. Please contact support for more information.
Bug fixes
- Fixed an Excel memory access error that could occur when assigning a value to a range.
- Fixed a NullReferenceException that could occur when invoking an Excel ribbon action.
- Fixed an issue where selecting “Common published dates” as the Frequency reset the “Show contract/delivery timing” setting.
- Prevented metadata updates started by multiple Excel processes from interfering with each other.
- Improved saving a query when Excel is temporarily busy, preventing error 0x800AC472 while writing the query to the hidden worksheet.
- Fixed invalid filter field combinations in outright prices requests.
- Improved login diagnostics so authentication failures are recorded with more meaningful information.
