Explorer Pipeline early today restarted the northern segment of its 660,000 b/d products pipeline from Texas through Oklahoma and Illinois to Indiana.
The company confirmed restarting its 24-inch (61cm) product line from Tulsa, Oklahoma, through Wood River, Illinois, to Hammond, Indiana, early today. Explorer's 28-inch (71cm) segment from Port Arthur, Texas, to Tulsa, Oklahoma, restarted on 3 September.
The company halted shipments across the 1,380-mile (2,945km) pipeline system moving gasoline and distillates after record flooding from the remnants of Hurricane Harvey shut or reduced almost 4mn b/d of capacity in the Houston and Port Arthur area last week. A 10-inch line continued to operate.
Refineries in that region have begun resuming service as pipelines and ports come back online.
