Iraq has reopened the 20,000 b/d Siniya refinery in the Salahuddin province, the oil ministry said today.
Oil minister Jabbar al-Luaibi said staff at state-owned Northern Refining Company (NRC) and other supporting state-owned oil companies were able to reconstruct the refinery, which was destroyed by Islamist group Isis.
The refinery will provide oil products to cover the province's needs, as well as for power generation.
