Sri Lanka's agriculture ministry has issued tenders to buy urea, TSP, MOP and ammonium sulphate closing on 22 January.

The first tender requests 27,400t of granular urea, 6,000t of prilled urea, 10,000t of TSP and 3,000t of MOP to be delivered to Colombo during April. A 5pc tolerance is applicable to all quantities requested.

Another tender requesting 2,000t of ammonium sulphate with a 5pc tolerance will also close on 22 January.

The Sri Lankan government announced the ceiling price for imported urea to qualify for subsidies in the first quarter of 2019. These prices are in line with the lowest prices offered in its 11 December tender to buy urea, TSP and MOP.
